GLC300 changes for 2018 ?

I am going to purchase a new GLC300 through the European Delivery Program but not sure whether to wait until the 2018's are out. Our plans are to purchase a 2017 and take delivery mid-march '17. If major changes will be made to the '18 model we would wait until mid-september to take delivery. Does anyone no of planned changes to the '18?

No word yet. I wonder if it will get the new 4 cylinder engine for model year 18

I would be surprised if anything is announced before 2nd quarter of 2017.
I predict Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. That is sorely lacking in current vehicles, IMHO, and is available in other MB models.

Other than not having the touchpad mouse silly thingy how is that dashboard actually different?

PS. I would just get the car now, once the 18 model year is out, the 19 will be announced. The car is pretty old by then, who knows what much more exciting vehicles will be available

Might as well wait till the 2020 model then or maybe the 2022 so you don't miss out on new features.

Yes if you wait till the 2022 model you'll also get the iPhone 13 Included with airplay(maybe) and a spare tire. That's what I'm waiting for.

If you wait till 2200 a teleportation device should exist by then and we won't need cars anymore. I can be on Mars in a blink of an eye.

I was at the dealership yesterday and my salesman told me for 18 that Mercedes was going to incorporate the nav screen into the dash. I bet it's going to look more like the E class. At first the floating screen bothered me but, now I'm used to it and I kinda like it.

I concur on the (Command?) screen location; it works from the driver's seat perspective.

+1 I really really didn't like it at first. But it is actually not that bad. Still prefer the Porsche flush integrated screen. But the quality of the larger version on the GLC is pretty good and in the better location.

Tough call. I don't like that Tablet attached look, but hard to argue about the visibility of it. I do like the up and down one my Audi has, though I suspect there is the mechanism failure possibility.

Of course, that Audi option of the screen behind the wheel is really sweet... and I suspect that may be the future.

A gaggle of MB's
Your "salesman" was smoking crack regarding the dash.... on the Touchpad now - now Touchpad is included with COMAND - standard infotainment is controller only....

No confirmation "yet" of CarPlay for 2018 - could well be - won't know until approx April when final specs are announced - any other "inside news" at this time is crck-smk.

What an odd comment...I saw no posts that claimed "inside news" about this

That's why I leased this vehicle. Too many changes happening frequently now a days, and other cars that are coming out. What a good time to be an auto enthusiast.

It was implied with the "...my salesman told me..." comment.

Fact is, there's no official announcement about the 2018 refresh from Mercedes. Anything outside of that falls into the realm of rumor and conjecture and should be treated with the appropriate skepticism.

Yeah, thanks. I guess I saw that as referring to CarPlay, but it was a general comment.

Agreed.
It is ironic that salespeople are often the source of a lot of disinformation. By the time in the car-buying process I actually set foot in a dealership, I invariably know as much (usually more) about the car I want to purchase than does the salesperson. I suspect many others on the forum have the same experience.

Does anyone have any insight into bringing the GLC or any diesel back to the US after the VW debacle. Don't think it will make the 2018 lineup. Maybe "The Donald" will the EPA back to some sort of reality. Passed on the diesel Jaguar F-Pace. BMW X3 and order a gas GLC300 for March delivery.

Finally the EPA has approved a VW Diesel fix for the 475,000 VW & Audi car recall. https://www.epa.gov/vw/statement-epa...-nox-emissions

Keeping figures crossed that MB will be able to import their diesel line. But don't think that will happen to at lease 2018.
