P052E MIL anyone?
This is the error I got. Is this issue in the engine cause I got powertrain warranty. If in the engine they will cover it.
transmission they will cover it.
I have not installed this yet
I tried a simple fix first
I knew the engine had 0w-40 in it and the level on the dipstick was just over the max line
I am taking a guess that the 40 weight oil was to thick and the level was too high
I changed out the oil to 5w-30 full synthetic and made sure the level of oil was right in the middle of the min and max line on the dipstick
with my OBD reader I erased the code and have not seen the code reappear for about three weeks now
The part number listed is for a C300 2015 ----There are a couple of well versed guys on here that helped with this ---Doorhandle LED posts of 3-27-2019 and GoHuskies who copied and pasted his work order from the dealership to have this problem fixed can be found on the thread for C Class C205

Recently had p052e71 code which means there is a problem in crank valve breather case had to go to Mercedes dealership takes 1 whole day and attaching the bill for your reference. Parts is $353.69 + Labour 1382.76 roughly 1736.76 plus sales tax. You might see Leak near the valve which is oil separator also you will fill minor power loss while driving as the crank and oil seperstor is not functioning100%. Fell free to ask any question. Also I did Auxillary battery Malfunction diagnostic and they change a part parx paul capacitor usually its life is 4 years than they go bad no extra battery is there its capacitor on passenger side under glove box. If you know a good German car fixing mechanic you can save some $ but I would prefer dealer job especially for crank job as it need 100% accurate work.

TESTED. OPERATING PROPERLY AT THIS TIME.
It looks to me like the part number is 274-090-16-00-80. I hope this helps anyone thinking about making the repair themselves. Good luck!
I'm guessing there's no other fix for this issue than replacing it. I lucked out and had it done under warranty. If you're out of warranty, it will cost you...either having it done professionally or labor, time, and material doing it yourself. I would probably give it a try myself after seeing what was done. But it's no walk in the park. You have to be willing to get in there and take some things off the engine to get access.

Turned out to be the same dreaded P052E71 issue, about which I of course knew nothing before we bought the car. Bottom line is that, with about three weeks' worth of factory warranty left, and a purchased upgrade to the Star Certified warranty, it was fixed by the dealer at no charge. I'm very glad we upgraded, because if this happens again, it'll be a couple of thousand dollars worth. The car is great, and we really love it; hope this is an isolated incident.
Interestingly enough, my average fuel consumption had been around 11 - 12 litres/100K, but when the car was returned from the dealer (all right, mostly highway miles, but still a reasonalble amount of city traffic), the clock was showing 6.7. The blocked valve clearly has an effect on power otput and therefore fuel economy, and this is obviously a huge improvement; we'll see how this progresses.
It's an all-day repair. It requires the following procedures: remove air filter housing, remove tubing to intake line, remove engine control unit and bracket, remove intercooler from bracket, remove intercooler bracket, disconnect battery, remove belly pans, remove belt, remove AC compressor from block, support engine with hoist, remove left engine mount and bracket, and finally replace intake line with integrated vent valve....then put it all back together and clear all faults.
My service was done in December 2018 with 32,400 miles (roughly 50,000 kilometers) and I was told that by then the part had been revised.
Took the car to the dealer and since it is still under CPO warranty, it was diagnosed and fixed in one day.
Of course, you get the response that "we rarely see these issues". The service advisor mentioned that the valve gets plugged and then stops working.
When I looked up the part number for the part 274-090-56-00, it shows that this is a re manufactured part. I wonder what they do to reman the part? And at $260 per, why don't they just remove the failed part, clean it out (if that's what it takes), and then reinstall.
Has anyone diagnosed their failed part?

Did your 5w-30 oil and amount fix the code? Can you update what's going on your car?
