I didnt know there is no spare or equipment fir ryn flats had a giant rusted metal arrow through my tire it went from 37psi to 2 in 1 mile. It was FLAT I had to get towed to dealer who WILl NOT reoair them every flat requires 350.00 tire purchase. 6 hours later done. Give me old cars . If I were on a trip would have been screwed nobody carries those tires .

So you couldn't drive at all on the flat run-flat? You're supposed to be able to go 50 miles on a flat run-flat.

I changed my run-flats on my 2020 GLC to non-run-flats in the first week of ownership. $145/each after discount. Put the new run-flats in the attic, and they will go back on the car the week before I turn in the lease 3 years from now, so I won't be hit for expensive new run-flat tires on the lease return.

I just received a used spare tire I bought on eBay, plus a jack and tool kit, and shorter lugs. $150 for everything. Looks it will all work, but I will try it on for size this weekend. Spare definitely fits under the trunk floor -- tested that already.

I will sell those spare tire items in 3 years from now and get my money back from them.

And I will save big over replacing the $350/each run-flats every 10-15K miles. Plus the non-run-flats can be patched without a problem.

And as an added bonus, the ride is luxurious again without those crappy run-flats.

2020GLC300,
I did the same. There is a place for everything under the trunk floor for the jack, lug nuts and wheel. The ratchet and lug wrench have a place in the side compartment behind the cover if, on the 2020, they didn't change that much from the 2019.
You're right about the run flats. They remind me of an old bike I had when I was young that had solid rubber tires. In fact, that would even be a better idea for the GLC, definitely no flats and you get the same ride!!

I took my run flats off my 2017 GLC 300 lease before driving the car. Instead of buying a spare tire for back-uo, I bought a tire plug kit, a can of tire sealant, and an air pump that attaches to the car battery. Fortunately, have not had to use them yet. I was going to put the run flats back on the car before turning the lease back in this June, but I think I will have enough tread left on the non-run-flats to pass inspection at turn in, so I will then try to sell the unused run flats.

I like that idea, but don’t you think they will notice that you don’t have the run-flats and ding you? If they miss it, it’s a liability for them to sell a vehicle without run-flats that came with them since there’s no spare.

I also keep a plug kit and tire pump in the car. If you get a simple flat on a long trip, it’s better to patch it and keep going than to use the spare which can only go 50 mph. But the spare is good when you have a sidewall blow out in an area that’s hard to get a tow. I am ready for either case now.

I was told by the dealership that I did not have to turn the car back in with run flats. The only requirement is that the tires on the car, run-flat or non-run flat, must have the required amount of tread. I am a low mileage user and will have less than 30,000 miles when I turn in the car in June.

Cool, thanks for mentioning it. I will definitely try the same then. We’ll be well under 30k miles by the time our lease is up, so I expect the new non-runflats will have plenty of tread life left also.

Your aware run flat tires can be driven on with zero pressure?

I bought premium Bridgestone Driveguard runflats for $208 each.
