GLC 2020 Dash Cam Installation
i have just purchased the above UK Specification vehicle. I removed my Nextbase Dash Cam from my previous C Class 220d
i installed the dash cam today and run the wiring into the drivers side fusebox on the end of the dash. This is where my previous camera got its power from of a 7.5A fuse which was on a piggy back fuse holder fitted with a 3A fuse
Camera powered up fine but on looking the vehicle dash cam remained powered up. I tried all fuses in this fuse box then rigged up a flying lead and tried fuses in the boot and also in the passenger side footwell fusebox
All these fuse remained live when I locked the vehicle. The only fuses I haven’t tried are in the engine pay, I did not try any of the micro fuses as I didn’t have a suitable adaptor
Any help in locating a suitable fuse which powers down the camera on locking the vehicle would be appreciated
regards
Terry
I found the fuse listing tucked into the fuse-area of the boot. Certainly the "cigarette-lighter/utility" fuse will be switched (but I think that one was in the boot for whatever reason).

Yes I plugged into each individual fuse and closed and locked the door each time on all fuses but the camera stays active. If you open the door and unplug the dash cam fuse it powers down in around 20 seconds
I ran a cable through the headliner and down the A-pillar to the passenger side fuse box. Finding no switched fuses there, I unscrewed the passenger-side footwell (under the glovebox), and used a wiretap to tap the 12v utility outlet. Ran a wire from there to the fusebox area - which I labeled and basically just used the easy access panel to that location to make my final connections.
My utility outlet is located actually in the passenger footwell - corner of the console, beneath the glovebox. I have the Qi/wireless charging option, and am not sure if the utility outlet is always in that location, or only when you have the wireless charging option.
Good luck. Let us know how you make out.

I will have another look tomorrow but I am sure I tried all those fuses today. The only thing I can think of is that these fuses now supply relays instead of going directly to circuits.
Are fuses moved from side to side to suit LHD and RHD vehicles?

problem sorted had to use the utility fuse in the trunk. All of the UK Spec cars do not have any suitable fuses on the drivers side fuse box.
Thanks to everyone on the forum for offering me help and support it’s much appreciated
I did use this manual from https://www.drive2.ru/b/512555488303382823/ to install this device on my GLC300 Coupe
You can translate it with google but the main point is on pictures.
Best regards,

UPDATE
This option is nowhere to be found. I am relatively certain my USB drive was recognized by MBUX, but there is no option in the referenced section of the controls, nor anywhere else I searched. It may not be available (yet?) for USA customers. I'm going to email MBUSA and see if they will respond. That's a letdown.
If anyone finds this option, please post back here?

However, as indicated on page 364 of the vehicle manual, the dashcam feature is not permitted in all countries. As such, this feature is unavailable in the United States.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate the opportunity to respond.
i posted they same question previously, why not just leverage the existing cam. Hopefully it can be hacked?
It's listed in the Software Licenses section of Settings too ("Disabled"). So it requires nothing more than probably an OTA update to enable it.
