Seat cooling hardly works

This is a brand new 2020 model. There's pretty much no air flow coming out of the seats even if I turn it on full mode. At near 40 degree C temperatures, I really need it here. Can anyone share their experience with this feature?

Are your seats ventilated or cooled?

Hmm.. Good point. I think it said ventilated in the specifications. So what does that mean?
In my wife's Lexus there's strong cold airflow from the seats.

Well ventilated means some air is circulated through the holes in the seat fabric but at the ambient temperature of the car interior and cooled means that colder air is circulated!
That's my understanding but of course I could be wrong. ( I have been wrong once before! !!!)

Ventilated seats move cabin air (at whatever temp the cabin air happens to be) through the seats. You won't notice them being cool unless the cabin ambient temp is cool.

Same on my GLE450, now that the weather got hotter I had a chance to use the feature and it is disappointingly weak.
Surprisingly much weaker vs a KIA Optima with ventilated seats I used to own. MB dropped the ball on this one 😒

The seat fans, and that is all they are, just help take the edge off and move air to places on your body that would be pressed against the seating surface and not exposed directly to cabin air - by the same token it also helps cool the leather surfaces down. I think many of us expect it to be air conditioned air, and I think that would be something I'd like to see in future models.

unsure on GLC but on my 2018 GLE it pulls air away from your body... it doesn't blow air thru the seat at you.....

I think it first pulls air away, then changes direction and blows air towards you.

Yeah this is really unexpected from Mercedes. Much cheaper cars already have this feature.
