What are the intervals for replacing "big" service items like trans and brake fluid?
inb4 if you have to ask you can't afford it.
I googled about service a and service b and supposedly they're glorified oil changes. I'll most likely be taking it in for regular service to an independent mercedes shop for about half the price. in canada, service a is 600, service b is 1000, not including tax, for an amg at least.
I googled the manual for a glc63s and couldn't find info on intervals. I know oil change is about 1 year/10000miles.
Mercedes replaces transmission and/or brake fluid every 2 years which is supposedly ridiculous. Does anyone know what the actual intervals should be? I thought it was more like 50000+ miles for transmission fluid, and 20000-30000 miles for brake fluid? I only drive my car about 10000KMS a year though.
Aside from filters, trans, brake, and oil fluid, and brake pads, any other big maintenance items i should know about? I don't know if anything extra cause amg and biturbo.
1) Remote key fob battery replaced every year, I assume it's something I can do myself or is it purposefully difficult and need a welder or something. My last key fob only needed to be changed after 4 years.
2) I know most of these fluids and filters, but what is rear axle differential fluid, is this related to awd, a drivetrain i've never had before? Is it expensive/difficult, or about same as an oil change? I'm guessing my last car, a 2015 mustang GT didn't have this?
3) "Dust filter replacement gle/gls only". other cars don't have a dust filter?!
The reality is, most of them are still only simple fluid changes (The transmission requires more tools and has a special filling system, but still can be done DIY), and if you have a trusted mechanic or are handy yourself, can save you literally thousands of dollars in service costs over a couple of years vs. paying the dealer to do it.

I guess if the dealer is replacing it you would pay that much but it is easy to do yourself.

It is to lock/limit the rear axle differential so that both wheels(left and right) turn on same/similar speed. It is very useful if want to drifting when turning the car. I think GLC63 can be drifting easily. I guess it should have this LSD.
