Should I buy maintenance package and extended warranty?

I am planning to buy new glc300 2021 in couple days.
Unfortunately has to pay MSRP on it and no perks/discounts/rebates etc..

I’m wondering if buying maintenance package upfront if worth or not. Not sure how much and what it does cover. I never owned German before.

From what I've read, it's best to buy the prepaid maintenance after the first service. The extended warranty is up to you and mostly will depend on how long you plan on keeping the vehicle. If you're only going to keep it for the regular warranty period, probably no need. But if you're going to keep it longer or go over the mileage in under 4 years, it may be worth it. Shop around for the best price for both packages. You can buy either Mercedes package from any dealer.

Talk to the Service Department where you will have it serviced, get today's estimate for the covered services, and do the math.
At least you will be locking in the maintenance costs, nationwide.

I wouldn't until you know you're going to need it, two years from now you could have some idiot total your car and never end up using it.

I had always bought my Benzes 3 years old with some factory warranty left, then driven them out-of-warranty for tens of thousands of miles. The lone exception (so far) was my wife's 2015 C300, purchased new. When the F&I guy pitched me the extended warranty I think I remember it being about $1800, and I remember telling the guy that I hadn't spent $1800 on services that would have been covered by warranty on all six of the Benzes I'd owned at that point COMBINED. I did end up buying on my SL400 (another car purchased toward the end of factory warranty), mostly due to the complexity of the retractable hardtop, which had already required service under the factory warranty. I asked on these forums and found the best deal with Jeff Jackson of MB Louisville in KY: 7 years/ 75,000 miles for $3795. It was over $5000 at my local dealer where I get my service and also over $5000 at a Washington DC dealer where a friend of mine is a salesman whose F&I Director claimed to be giving me a discount (I think I remember it being slightly less than the local dealer but it was two years ago and Jeff Jackson was the only one to provide a price in writing). My understanding is that it's not only transferable if I were to sell the car but also refundable if I don't use it, or use it to the full extent of $3795. For me, knowing I would drive that car well into 2022 and beyond, it was a no-brainer.

The prepaid maintenance didn't appeal to me because my service advisors often apply coupons or discounts to my service charges (I think I've earned a well-deserved reputation as a guy who loves a discount, and my Five Star reviews evidently are worth it.) Other after-sale items like lost key protection and ding protection didn't seem worth it, and only tire and wheel insurance made any sense, though not on that car, which I had the good Massachusetts sense to buy with 16" wheels.

If you're leasing, the prepaid maintenance is a good bargain, as they fold it into the lease and you only pay for about 50% of the cost, same as for the car.

How does that work? Is that based upon (round numbers here) you pay $30K in lease payments for a $60K car that you give back in 3 years?

If you lease a $60,000 car and they project it will be work $25,000 when your lease is up, your lease payments are based on the value lost, $35,000. That means you pay for about 58% of the car's value. If you add prepaid maintenance to the lease when you first take it out, you also pay for 58% of it. Same for getting the tire/wheel warranty (that's how my dealer has done it for me). In other words, take your total lease price for car, maintenance, warranty, etc,, take 58% of it.

Having purchased 6 or 7 formerly 3-year leased cars for less than 50% of MSRP, I've never been a good prospect for a lease (also not a fan of monthly payments of any kind). How long is the lease in your example? How long is the maintenance or tire/wheel coverage? Honestly curious to do the math.

GLC 300 2020
I heard, from this forum was, pay ou-of-pocket for first service A maintenance and then take service maintenance from Service B till warranty. Is that still correct?
My service is due in 29days, so I was looking for opinions

I usually do a 3 year lease. I take out the service contract and tire warranty for that period. Although on my current lease, dealership told me the wheel/tire warranty wasn't worth the price and to skip it, so I just did the prepaid maintenance.
