Strange whirring noise - is it the turbo?
Hello everyone!
I have a 2019 GLC 300 4Matic that I purchased recently. It has about 90K miles. I noticed it making a strange whirring noise a few days ago. It can be heard most at certain RPMs (lower RPMs - it either doesn't happen or you can't hear it at higher speeds/on the freeway). I've included a video of what it sounds like from the inside. Any ideas on what it could be? I'm probably going to take it in to have it looked at.

This sounds similar to what I have heard for years in my 2017 GLC. At about 1800 rpm, under light load in just about any gear, I hear a similar sort of high-pitched moan/whine. I specifically asked the dealership about it when I went in for service once, and the response was, "There's nothing wrong."
My guess is that it's some sort of intake moan that occurs at that particular engine speed.

It sounds like from a pulley bearing cuz the grease dried out.
Remove the serpentine belt, if you know how, and turn all the pulleys, include alternator, ac, tensioner and idlers by hand and find if any, noisy one.
You can add some grease under the pulley bearing cover except ac and alternator. I did this for my minor noisy idler and a tensioner pulley.
The alternator pulley is special complicated one called OAD. Mine was bad and noisy, so I replaced new OAD with a special socket.
