I ordered mine with 894 last January and it arrived in October without 894!!! of course they charged me for it. I'm afraid it's in the hands of my lawyer. sad!
The only issue w/these retrofits is that you will never get "credit" for the lighting being in the car since it was never part of the VIN and the original build sheet.
I know this won't make or break resale value but something you may have to highlight in the future to differentiate your car from cars in the same model year when selling privately.
The build date for my GLC is Jan 20, 2024 and the code on my build sheet says 891 Multi-color ambient lighting. When I asked the dealer the difference between the 891 code and the 894 code they said " You will have ambient lighting throughout the car. The ambient plus just adds a couple more lighting zones. The majority of the vehicles we have, and that you have seen have the same one you are getting." I still would like to know where the "couple more lighting zones" are. Does anyone have that information? And like the original post asks, is the Enhanced Ambient Lighting available?
Same for me on my new C300e, the last few versions of thr brochures show that the ambient lights premium plus sa894 are not included on anything other than AMG. So I don't have the door handles, centre console or air vent lights. Strange but no longer an option. Configurator shows you can have it, but brochure lists standard vents etc.

What a shame... At least (hopefully) you did not pay for the enhanced ambiant lights... When I purchased my GLC (AMG-line), the option was available and was ordered... I'm afraid my lawyer will end up taking the dealer to court :-(
You can order the enhanced ambient lighting on any new C Class right now.. it’s an extra item.. so you can add it as an add on… if your car is being ordered today and not locked in yet.. but it’s still not currently available as an add on on the GLC as of today.
I wish I knew this earlier before factory ordering. What are my options? I’ve waited 3 months already and vehicle is still not delivered. Thinking about cancelling the order all together. Granted this enhanced ambient lighting is such a small detail in the grand scheme of things but I believe this is what sort of sets mercedes interior a part from other competitors. Especially if I’m paying for the pinnacle and to not be told about this prior to ordering, I feel helpless in this situation.

I believe without 894, you won’t have lighting in any of the front or rear vents, at the foot space for driver and passenger, rear seats, and on the sides of the center console. I spoke with two dealerships and both have said there is no timetable on when MB will be able to get these parts again. Both of these dealerships said it won’t be possible to get these enhanced ambient features after car delivery.
I did find this website and reached out to them who said that after speaking with their engineer, this work for the 2024 GLC SUV. But I’ve heard online that the 2024 wiring is configured differently than previous years.

From what I’ve read online - yes. I also custom ordered mine with all options back in the end of November 2023 (still waiting) and 894 was never able to get added to the build sheet.

Dont you have your build sheet printout from initial order of the options and you're saying you don't see 894 on it? Or it was on it and now its removed on an updated sheet?

check your datacard, if you see 891 and 894, then it is Premium Plus Ambient Light (you may call it enhanced ambient light).
So on my 2024 GLC300 Pinnacle trim came with the 891 but not the 894, which means im missing part of the lighting, and I noticed the vents were missing the lighting, but on my 2023 C300 it has them all over the place in the car, vents, seats, sides etc..
I even asked the salesperson to make sure it came with it, as it adds to the car a lot and he said yes, the vents have them around the ring... which I knew it SHOULD, but i took it home and now missing... going back to dealer tomorrow as i just picked up the 2024 GLC300
