How I saved over $3,000

Upon turning unto my street and up my driveway, the Sirius station I was listening to went to "service unavailable". I immediately knew I had effed up.
I did a lot of reading and questioning here and on other corners of the internet. I found that the Sirius unit is in the back right corner of the trunk and since I have the Hybrid, the battery is the highest point and all spilled liquid goes right to the back. Bad design.
I called to get a quote from MB... and almost fell over when I hear it. $3200 for a Sirius Sat unit installed.
I looked into a used unit, but MB has a lockdown on installing used ones, as you may know.
So I decided to take the entire thing apart myself.
I removed the trunk lining, side panel lining, unplugged everything back there and finally got to and removed the unit. I opened the unit up and saw corrosion on one if the circuits. I gently brushed that off with a toothbrush and reassembled the unit and the back of the vehicle. I said a prayer and turned the ignition on, switched to Sirius....
AND IT WORKED
Holy S it worked.
Yes I probably could have cleaned it off better or used some spray, but I really didnt think it was going to work.
a big FU to MB and their stupid prices and lockdowns.
