Delay on the GLC 63?

My dealer just called me, said that they saw a delay on the delivery for the GLC 63 SUV.

They are suppose to be build on the 2nd decade of January (For the US West coast), but now my dealer said that it will be pushed back to February.

And because it comes from Germany, he said it will be a late April delivery. He said things may change in the next week, but as for right now... yeah.

Did anybody else get similar info from the dealer?

I haven’t heard from SA. This is not surprising given the configurator isn’t active. Maybe others on the board can get feedback.

I have not heard this, but if it is true then it is bitterly disappointing.

I for one will not be taking delivery of the car in April unless it is a 2019 model.

GLC production model years run from August-July, so getting a car in April means it will be outdated in 3 months with a 20% depreciation hit within that time period. I don't want to buy a car and lose that much value that quickly. Especially as its looking like the 2019 model year will gave significant updates - digital cluster, new E-Class style wide screen navigation, and Apple CarPlay in conjunction with COMAND.

I don't know what to do at this point. We've had our c300 for 2.5 years. I don't want to wait 11 months for another new car.

I saw some Nov and Dec build on my dealer's internal webpage, but my dealer told me that since its a launch vehicular, Merc wants them to be released at the same time. Which means that these Nov. build has to wait for the Jan. build to finish and deliver all of it at the same time.

I am not sure about the legitimacy of this statement, maybe you want to double check with your dealer?

I emailed my SA. He said he would get back to me next week. I was slated for Jan build March delivery. March was the latest that I was willing to go. If it slips past, I will re evaluate.

Alll these estimates of when people are slated for are not meaningful. Mercedes hasn’t issued any production slots so nobody is scheduled for anything yet. You don’t have an actual production number yet do you?

All we can know is where we stand on the dealers list. I am number one on my dealers list for the 63S Coupe. But no idea what that means in terms of date and dealer doesn’t either.

They get the latest batch of production slots on October 10th.

Have you called your dealer today? They are supposed to receive a new batch of allocations today.

I called my dealer and he said that they do have a round of allocations today but he can’t see them because his dealership was recently acquired by another dealership and they are in the midst of doing a systems cutover. He is unable to access the computers until Thursday!

Thanks. Are these your first two units or do you have earlier production runs which are already spoken for?

The local dealer in Atlanta says they already have one which is locked (i.e. can't be configured) which should arrive in 6 weeks. Not sure if this is accurate or not, but he sent me the specs.

Don't believe any GLC63's will be built before early January.. then have to be shipped over and certified

My SA got back to me. No change to the initial production run for the GLC 63 in the system. There is a second production run now in the system for Mar/April builds, later delivery. As far as I am concerned, I am still on schedule for a January build.

Sorry to burst bubbles guys and be the bearer of bad news

I ordered in JUNE on the first day banks opened at a large dealer with huge allocations. Original build date was 1st decade of November.

just received update today, with confirmation from mbna.

the earliest order batches are now delayed until 2nd decade of February....later orders will receive word in the near future.

I always order my car purchases and I always go through this. What a clumsy industry. Seems ripe for disruption.

What was the concession package? And how long was the delay that MB offered it?

Different situation. The E63 cars were made but sitting at port. The owners had promised production and delivery dates which were missed.

We don’t have any production dates or delivery dates from Mercedes. Just vague indications.

Update - Spoke with sales manager, my June order was locked 7/25 for an 1D of November production. Now that has been bumped to 1D February, but no changes can be made to the configuration.

Has anyone else had luck in making changes to an order?

Also, I am curious how some are stating their dealers will have vehicles in January given that production doesn't begin until then...
