Car going into limp mode (mods : racechip)
i have a glc43 amg and have been riding it for two years without any problems at all until recently which car goes into limp mode every now and then

When I bring up the AMG menu it doesn’t show any boost and car accelerates much less than normal. And also there’s a racechip installed on the car as well.
any ideas 💡?
they are located under the airboxes running under the spark plugs on both sides of you can take a look and see.

but I forgot to say when this happens “A” button , eco start/stop function is disabled! I can now predict when this “limp mode” thing gonna happen! Before happening it seems the car is choking on something then suddenly turbo shuts down but no noise etc

to have professionals spend the time they need for my individual car. Too much **** can go wrong with these complicated engines it just makes me so leery of ****ing around with it in the first place.
Last thing I want to do is be holding the bag on a roached engine.
Also one question what settings on the race chip are there? Boost parameters?
The cars are sensitive as the LPFP seems to have the voltage toned down quite a bit. I am pushing 23psi right now and having no fuel issues with my new tuner.
Oh also running E50 currently and working on a E85 tune with them as well. Thing is a monster!
After reading a little more seems like this happens to a couple people. Looked through the Bmw forums and a couple guys said the same thing. After driving one year they were going limp mode. I would think it is the Racechip itself maybe got a spark when the car was turned on and screwed the sensor.
Do yourself a favor and get a Tune. It is so easy nowadays with the OBD2 access.

Loose cnxn at the boost sensor clip is a pretty frequent cause for issues similar issues with piggy backs. The clip is a little tricky.
But most importantly, the dealer won't really do anything to help.
I disagree. Racechip and Dinan are really mild tunes that are safe for most applications. BMS JB4 is more powderful but also has more safety features baked in. This can't be said for all the canned ECU flashes out on the market right now. Some are great and others not so much. There really isn't any reason to get an ECU tune unless you are going stage 2 or beyond or if you really want to add a burble tune to a car that doesn't have it stock.
For cars running stock + tune, a piggy is the best option. And JB4 is the best of the piggies.
Now if you're building a heavily modified beast like Kingmonkey Jr, a custom ECU flash is really the only option. But his ride is a Unicorn. You're not going to find many beasts like that out in the wild.
