GLC Coupe Visibility

I posted this in the other GLC forum but didn’t get a response, and I tried searching but maybe my search abilities are lacking. I have a 2012 C coupe and am looking at getting a GLC 43 coupe. I’ve heard visibility is not very good out the rear and sides and was wondering what everyone thinks, especially compared to C coupes. I’m more concerned about changing lanes in traffic. Thank you!

Driving the Coupe' reminds me of driving a modern Camaro IRT how it looks, looking out the back. It is not as good as the SUV but it isn't all that bad. I am a look over my shoulder guy anyway and don't rely on just mirrors. Go to a lot and sit in one, you don't need to drive it to get a feel for the rear view-

I have a GLC 63s coupe and I’ve never even noticed the visibility, meaning it’s no worse than anything else I’ve ever driven.

AMG GLC 63s Coupe
They are a little difficult to back up secondary to the back window but as long as you have the rear-view camera, it is fine. As far as changing lanes in heavy traffic, it is not difficult at all. It was the most awesome car I have ever had in spirited driving. I had the 63s with a TCU and ECU tune and lowered. I really liked that car.

I traded it in for a truck last week. A truck just fits into what I have being doing lately like going bird hunting, pig hunting, shoot clay pigeon tournaments and playing around on the farm. Plus, even though I tried, the AMG just wasn't the car for me to be pulling a SXS, and playing in the dirt. It turns out that a 702hp truck, works very well for all of that...

Rear visibility is poor in my view. I had a GLC coupe as a loaner and the single complaint I had was rear visibility. The liftgate window is a tiny sliver of glass at a steep (flat) angle.

So that brings me to another question I have. I like going hiking and snowboarding and this car will be my daily driver for those. I'll be going on a lot of PNW forest service roads which aren't the best, but also not fully offroading either. Did you ever do anything like that with your car for those activities? If so, any major issues?

I use my 43 coupe for that all the time. It's the reason why every SUV I look for has a 40/20/40 split since I hate loading up top. I slide the boards down the middle and still have space to pack the kids. I'm on all 21" season tires and they are "fine" if you drive carefully. But snow tires are going to be MUCH better.

I like the OEM air suspension on the 43 coupe because I can raise the vehicle a several inches (can't remember the exact amount) any time I need more clearance.

I’ll get snow tires for the season, but my biggest concern is forest service roads with big potholes and sharp rocks. I like the 21s but will get 20s because of the bigger sidewall.

All I did in mine is city driving, drag strip, hauled my road and mountain bikes around on the bike rack. I just started pulling my Trailer with my SXS loaded and that is when I decided to just get a truck.

So far I am averaging 7.2 mpg with the TRX and I am thinking...why did I sell my 63s...lol...
