GLC43 AMG engine changes

I am a huge huge fan of the current 6 cylinder engine in my 2021 GLC43amg. My lease will be up in a year or so and I am considering buying the car. I like this engine so much that I don't want to let it go especially since it will most likely be my last full combustion engine. Anyone else not super excited about the incoming 4 cylinder options?? I hate the idea of fake noise being pumped in. I grew up with v8s and kind of love a good sounding engine.

The main reason I bought my 2022 GLC 43 was the ENGINE! I DID NOT want a 4 banger!

I love the V6 but I want to at least reserve judgement until I test drive the W206 C 43, if only it would arrive to my local dealership already, might need to wait till summer for Canada.

You are right about at least test driving, but I feel like the last of any sort of thing can be worth hanging on to. I wonder if nice v6s and v8s will become boutique items or completely obsolete. I could see gas getting cheaper as it competes with electrics and these cars might have some novelty one day. The gas mileage is pretty good considering how rowdy I am with it. Anyway..

Just keep in mind yours (2020) is a slightly higher power output one compared to pre-facelift (PFL), 385 or about 287 kilowatt in yours versus 362 or about 270 kilowatt in the pre-facelift, same exact engine and variant/version otherwise. Rumours were bigger turbo.

They kinda already are becoming that way! I mean manufacturers are dropping V8's except in higher end cars. Majority of everyday passenger vehicles today are 4cyl if not some kind of Hybrid. I plan to keep my GLC43 as my daily and not mod it or mess with it, Instead, I bought a 2002 C5 with 55K miles and will make that my fun car to mod, take to the track and strip to have fun. Much cheaper and easier to get performance parts for a LS1 than a MB! Plus they are ~3300 lbs and are my fav body style. If you follow the drag world/boards and such, finding a early 2000 vintage car (camaro, vettes and Firebirds mostly) is a hot ticket now. Prices are starting to go up now to crazy levels for unmodded V8's of all brands (mostly LS1 based cars). Get them while you can, they will only go up in value most likely with all of the electric push and green yadda ya BS. And if I stay out of the fun peddle, I can get ~22+ mpg on the vette-

Right on!! I had a 1997 Camaro LT1. Great car. Got rid of it 6 years ago and heavily regret it but I didn't have anywhere to keep it. Also have a 2002 SLK 320 that's really fun.
