2024 GLC43 is Oil level correct and normal ?

Hello all,

I was curious about the oil level and at one point I had seen it at MAX but now after checking with what I'm assuming is the right procedure , drive , stop and then verify with car on.
It seems that its in the middle on the needles, is this OK with oil level and I should not be worried about any and loss

?

Are you on an incline? Anyways, the gauge is doctored, more info on it here: https://mbworld.org/forums/gle-class...ml#post9020867

Seems convoluted as a measurement .
I guess we have to go with the word "OK" above as we can never rely on an accurate reading with gauge..

Just wondering how I can go about checking real oil level rather than this bogus gauge
Should I bring it into dealer and make them put a dipstick ?.I just want to make sure it isn't burning any oil

Fully understand you are concerned with the engine oil level, don't worry because if you have a chance to view the thread I linked, it shows how to enter workshop mode which displays the precise measurement.

I just noticed oil level now down to MIN when checking as per procedure , is this normal?? . Day 1 was at Max and today it's at MIN.
Definitely concerning and strange after 10 000kms as I'm convinced it's burning it as . Going for an oil change this week .

This engine is definitely problematic

Some oil consumption is considered normal. I don't really think there is anything too unusual with that amount of oil consumption in 10,000 km. The engine will likely have less consumption in the next 10,000 km unless you drive at higher engine speeds on a consistent basis.
The operator's manual on P.375 stipulates:
"Depending on driving style, the vehicle consumes up to 0.9 US qt. (0.8liters) of oil per 600 miles (1,000 km). The oil consumption may also be higher than this when the vehicle is new or if you frequently drive at higher engine speeds."

If assuming it was 6.3qt at start , now it's almost 5 then.
So it's pretty much normal as per Mercedes as it's mentionned.

I guess we can only just monitor.

So I asked my friendly and trusted mechanic and oil loss is 100% normal for this engine so need to keep an eye within workshop menu as dash graphic is unreliable . Thanks all...

pretty sure the guide tube comes with the dipstick, probably has a bolt to remove somewhere near the front of the engine for it to go into but as I said, probably best to have Merc mechanics install it.

I've told you all I know about it. My mechanic told me it was an option to order it and have them install it if I wanted them to, I don't see the need.

Wish they can provide a diagram or something.
