These are some I took during delivery. I love this color combo.

2020 GLE450
Hi guys. Been lurking for a couple of weeks, and this site has been a great source of information while researching the new GLE. Last week, my dealer placed an order for a 450 AMG Line Exterior w/Night. I'm told to expect March 2020 delivery. I am set for all the options, but I keep going back and forth on the 20-inch AMG 5-spoke vs the 21-inch AMG multi-spoke. Right now, the order is placed with the 5-spoke, but I think I have time before March to alter the order. The pictures of both wheels look great. I'm speculating, but I assume the 20-inch wheels may ride a little smoother on rougher roads, but the 21's probably look more aggressive. Guess I just need to go back to the dealer and take a look at them side by side.

The 20 inch wheels have meatier tires and look mean. The 21 inch wheels are much sportier looking. Slightly different appearances. Definitely go check them out at the dealership and see what you prefer best. Comfort wise, I’ve seen most here say the 21s ride very nicely. This is a Mercedes after all. That March delivery estimate is VERY generous. I would not expect that car sooner than four months. Six months would be more realistic at this point, until Mercedes can show us that their production is getting back on track.

I have the 21s and they are really beautiful. I haven't driven with the 20s but I saw them at the dealer and to me they looked small for the 450, especially with the AMG package.
Comfort-wise I have no issues with the 21s on NYC streets & highways which are horrendous and littered with potholes. The multispoke are harder to clean, keep that in mind.
Oh, and don't forget to add wheel locks, if you are going with the 21 multispoke with black accents, older the silver wheel locks they will match.

It’s subjective, obviously, but I love the look of the 21s, and they do ride comfortably, and the roads here in New England are terrible. In terms of looks, they were a must for me.

Thank you, guys. I agree with your assessments on the aesthetics, and it is good to hear from the northeastern guys regarding the 21's on the less than optimal roads. With that said, I hope you are wrong about the delivery times.

Thank You.

im ordering a GLE580, would the 22" rims be a bad choice for NYC streets?

Anything nice is a bad choice on NYC streets
Are the tires on the 22s even slimmer than the 21s?

Of course they are; 40 & 35 series vs. 45 & 40 for the 21s.

it's interesting that people on this forum seem to own 2020 450's more than the 350's but dealerships have so little 450 inventory and 350 is much more prevalent.

Just spitballing, but perhaps it’s because the people most likely to seek out a forum on the GLE (or any subject, really) are more likely to be enthusiasts and, thus, more likely to appreciate the bigger engine and better performance characteristics of the 450.

2020 GLE 350 4Matic / Night Package / Premium Package / 21" Wheels
The new GLE-350 finally arrived and was delivered yesterday - it was worth the wait!

'20 GLE-350 with Night Package & 21" wheel upgrade - note: the bigger wheels are stunning on this vehicle (10x21" Front / 11x21" Rear).

Congratulations! Looking nice with that night package as well as that color.

if you have those wheels and want to switch the rims, do you just have to get 2 rims at 10 x 21" (front) and 2 rims at 11 x 21" and shouldn't be any issues?

given the weather in the east coast, it would seem quite hard to maintain those multi spoke even with the night package. Was thinking maybe getting multi spoke but getting them coated black so it's less wash and maintenance over time, thoughts on anyone that have multi spoke and in a stormy/wintery environment?

Thanks!

My solution was to order the vehicle with the 21" wheels from the factory, and then search for a set of take-offs. I found a set of the '20 GLE AMG 20" 5-double-spoke-design wheels (9x20 ET57 front / 9x20 ET44 rear) on eBay, and then mounted a set of Nokian winter tires on them. Worked out great!

We haven’t had a ton of snow yet in Southern New England, but so far the multispokes have held up just fine. An easy scrub at the car wash and whatever was on them came right off. Takes slightly longer, so it may have cost a few extra quarters, but no biggie.

Congratulations! Absolutely beautiful. We're really a bit lost on the exterior color. Is yours the polar white or the designo diamond white?

That is terrible! Looks like they left shipping protection on. Looks okay on the Macan, which they are obviously copying.
