Espresso over Lunar Blue with Black headliner looks so classy!

I believe Espresso/Magma is no longer offered, instead they have Espresso/Black. The picture above is the first picture I came across that seems to show how gray it is compared to black.

 

Finally got around to proper detailing....wash down, then with a clay job, minor paint correction with DA, and finally cquartz ceramic coating. Also applied ceramic coating specifically for tires, as well as a separate ceramic coating on the wheels. Painted calipers red. PPF partial hood, entire front bumper & grill lines, lower rocker panels, handle cups, side mirrors and back bumper..... and she's ready to take her 21's for a roll

 

First time Mercedes owner! So excited that I made the right choice! Coming from 2018 Maserati Levante, the 2021 GEL 450 is every bit better except the engine, even though Mercedes website claim GLE 450 has more power 362hp vs 345hp, 0-60 5.5 sec vs 5.8 sec but I just feel Levante is more responsive in every gear and that sound... Just Amazing!
Alright, back to my brand new GLE 450, got the car on 22nd of this May, it's that same day dealership starting to add a $2000 premiun on all of their cars, due to chip shortage and logistics delay... Mine was like the last one or two purchased without paying the Premium!
Just had a little regret that mine doesn't come with air suspension and running board. Other than that, I just wanna say it's amazing! Love that 21" wheel! And the walnut wood interior is just beautiful!

Sweet!!! In retrospect you may not miss the impracticality of the run boards....they look nice but there not all that helpful getti g in and out, and your pant legs pay the price of getting dirty, especially if your in winter region....I love the color combo!!

Picked my GLE 450 up last Saturday and finally got some times for a few photos. It's a 2021 GLE 450 with the AMG Line Exterior, Premium Package, Driver Assistance Package Plus, Lighting Package, Natural Grain Brown Walnut Trim, MB-Tex Upper Dash and Door Trim, Power Rear Side Window Sunshades, Heated and Ventilated Front Seats, Heated Steering Wheel, Heated Rear Seats, Power Tilt/Sliding Panorama Roof and a Trailer Hitch. Got MB-Tex and honestly and for us it's a great decision since 1) your average person wont know and cant tell the difference and 2) my wife and I hope it is easier to maintain than the leather seats we have in our BMW 535. Time will tell but overall we are very pleased.

I had the running boards but now when I changed to a hybrid of the GLE I optioned without them as getting inans out of the car is a pain with those.

 

yep I heard people complain about the running board, but it looks damn fine👍

 

Thanks for the reply. Fantastic car! I want to also order Lunar Blue. I may be wrong, but the Espresso in your vehicle does look different than the espresso in my wife's 2017 E300. Her 2020 E350 has Macchiato with Lunar Blue Metallic. It's nice, but I liked the Espresso more in her 2017. I would love someone to tell me if it is different. It's really hard to tell in your photos. I was planning to order the AMG exterior with Nightline. Do you think that would get lost with Lunar Blue?

 

I had the same concern over Espresso...the pics show it lighter than actual. The 2020 GLE 450 Espresso leather was a very nice color...I would describe it as more of a medium brown. It will blend better with black than it did with Magma Grey, IMO. Haven’t seen the MB Tex Espresso. The only way you will know for sure is to see it for yourself if one ever hits your Dealer.

 

Thanks for the quick reply. I am still on the shelf after surgery and not able to get to the dealer and hate to wait to order a new car. MB is telling me that they can take builds for 2022, but no delivery until Oct. I'm ok with that, but want to get the order placed. In our area, inventory is crazy low and not sure if there is even a car with espresso in inventory. I'll have to check and possibly get them to drive one over. (Good luck with that). I really would love to see how the AMG looks with the Lunar Blue. Wife's blue is gorgeous, but it's a sedan.

 

Thank you. The wife likes it so all is good. The biggest problem with the car is that it is hers and I am a passenger most of the time.

 

When I placed my order, I considered the expresso but didn't like the black trim. At least two months ago, you could specify Magma Grey instead of black for no additional charge.

 

Thanks for the note. I just found out that my wife’s 2017 was NOT espresso, but Nut Brown which was lighter than the current Espresso. The Espresso is more like a brown. I’m thinking It would be a tad too dark with black headliner for Lunar Blue. Macchiato might have to be my choice. Still want the AMG, assuming it doesn’t get lost with the blue.

 

Your suv is fantastic, especially with the AMG/nightline. Does the exterior picture give a pretty good representation of the selenite gray? It appears to be darker in your pics than what I have seen on lots. I'm ordering a car in a day or two and was set with Lunar Blue with amg/nightline until I saw your car. Also, I like your macchiato. What is your trim called? Thanks

 

Just picked my Cardinal red... Black MB Tex interior, so no need to upload pics but the red is GREAT!

 

Definitely looks great! I considered that color but by the time I decided to change, my order was locked. I think it looks even better with the night package.

I was skimming though some of these pages (admittedly not all) looking for Macchiato interiors... and had the understanding that the headliner is beige. My new 450 has a black headliner - isn't that unusual?

 

Black is an option with the macchiato interior and I'm guessing an infrequent selection.

 

Canadians had fewer options to choose headliner colour in certain combinations. I originally wanted Expresso leather but could not order it with black headliner like the Americans could get. No explanation from the dealer why, so I went with black interior as I only wanted a black headliner. Some of the option restrictions by country are odd and make no sense.

 

Thank you. Headliner colour was not an option I was presented with. Suede in black is an option, but requires a switch from Macchiato. The original sales order was silent on headliner, but I would have preferred the beige.

Looks like maybe the factory made the decision for me, like how they did not add the dash cam even though it was ordered.
