MBUX Update Fresh Update 2 (FUP2)
For those wanting to do the same - be aware that it takes over 4 hours for the dealership to apply it.
So far, there don't appear to be any downsides to having had the update done. The addition of the Mercedes Me Store is a welcome addition. The voices have changed slightly in response to "Hey Mercedes" but can't put a finger on how exactly - perhaps slightly deeper in tone? Everything else works just like before.
Hopefully the random 'black screen' will be fixed as well .. time will tell!
As far as i'm aware, ex-factory, cars came with FUP0 that did not show the version number, and there have been two updates, FUP1 and FUP2, both of which now have a visible version number in the menus.
If you can't see your version number in the System menu, then it's likely you've got FUP0

Carplay is also not full screen (full 12 in display) - seems to be same size as before, using about 70% of the screen?
.. but my question is where are the OTA updates? I thought one of the key features of MBUX was it would update over the air rather than requiring a trip to the dealer.

1- In the Android Auto App, go to the Menu -> Settings and make sure "Try the New Android Auto" (first menu option) is selected.
2- Still in Settings, scroll all the way down until you see "Version", and click that row 10 times.
3- After Developer Mode is activated, click on the 3 dots on the top right and select "Developer settings"
4- Near the bottom, there's a "Video Resolution" option where you can try various options.
Not sure if any of them will work, but worth a try...

Edit: put that wrong above. I didn’t need to tap 10 for Developer, just hit the 3 dots and selected that option (developer) but nothing changed with any of the video settings. I can see that MBUX is only releasing the small screen with other icons in the rest of the screen. Also my center console touch pad doesn’t work with AA so looks like I have to wait for a TSB. Will file with CS but doubt that will do any good.
