Tesla Model S, Porsche 718 Boxster, Ordered 2021 GLE 53 AMG
Thanks for the prompt reply. So they ship within a couple of days of production (8/23) and delivery be approximately around 10-11 Sep?
They are producing 2020 GLE 350, 450, 580. 2021 GLE 53, since it didn't have a 2020 model.

As you said, the previous info was for non AMG’s. Maybe Fabbrisd1 will chime in with an update. The 53 is in production now but I haven’t seen anything certain for the US orders except what we have on the build sheet. The variable will be how the existing Dealer orders stay on schedule....last I heard they were scheduled to build first and have been “locked” for changes. Fabbrisd1 said 63’s are coming soon so that may also mean that 53’s are about to start shipping unless they hold them to ship to all Dealers simultaneously, IMO. Since it’s August now the October/November builds are likely estimates that could move a few Decades sooner or more likely later.

Are you planning to get one off the lot or planning to get custom built? If you find one at the dealer you should be able to negotiate ~6%. If it's a customer order then I would target 4-4.5%.
Thanks for the insight! Definitely looking into building one given my unique specs. Is there a particular "best time" to order given the pandemic? Any recs for a reasonable dealer haha

I ordered a 2021 53AMG SUV in June 2020. I spoke to my sales rep yesterday and no allocation/VIN # yet. He thinks we will get an allocation in Sept. and then hope for delivery before New Years Eve! Also at the Tucson dealer, I was first in line for the SUV. This MIGHT be my Christmas present to myself- we hope. I am just going to have to limp by with my 2018 43AMG- things could be worse/
Hope you get your AMG53 on schedule.
Does appear that Vance is cranking out the production.
I don't yet have a VIN for my GLE350, now rescheduled to end of September, but have an allocation and an order number. From my experience ordering the 2018, the VIN is assigned closer to production.
Don't know whether my vehicle is still locked now that build has been moved back a month. Don't want to know so I won't be tempted to add options I don't really need.

It's been a long time since I've been on the forums. I have a '21 63 S on order. The production date was 8/13. I'm hopeful for delivery soon. Just (tried) to browse the open service bulletins for MY20. My goodness there are quite a few. I'm hopeful that some of the issues were ironed out.
Poking around, there seems to be a few listings for 21 GLE 63s that indicate in transit, but none seem to have arrived on the lot. Anyone with an upcoming build receive an update?

I ordered a 21 GLE450W4 SUV yesterday (8/18) and was able to specify the Code 21U Dashcam for $200. It's not listed in the Dealer Order Guide but it was in Netstar and the technical details were in the E class description. My GLE is scheduled for November decade 1.
One option that is no longer available is the ENERGIZING Comfort Package.
Can't wait...

Just double-checked with my dealer and he did not show 21U dashcam on Netstar. Perhaps because mine is a GLE350. But in any event, mine is B3, so locked for changes. I'll check when I take delivery whether it can be added aftermarket.

ENCT, If your question was directed at me, yes they have two per month. It's a small dealer.
Wanted to pass along a word of caution. After submitting my order for my 63, the MSRP document did not reflect the initial request submitted by my dealer to MBUSA. I discovered there was a discrepancy in the chosen wheel option. Dealer has kindly offered to refinish the wheels since it entered a status where modification was no longer an option, and the option the car was built with was the same style, but the wrong color. Dealer said this has happened a few times. Hopefully, this will save someone a headache (and an unpleasant surprise).

This happened to me on my 2020 GLE 450 order a year ago....Acoustic Comfort dropped. Then on my GLE 53 the U19 Augmented Video disappeared. I caught the U19 since I asked for my build sheet again after my build had been accepted by Mercedes. My SA thought that he might have made a mistake but I doubt it since he had it right when I left the Dealership. I suggest waiting 1-2 weeks after ordering to get a new build sheet & double check everything.

I agree 100%. Is it a Netstar glitch, Dealer Input or does someone at the Factory make changes??

Ron.s, in my situation, I don't believe the dealer was at fault. They had me sign a printout that appears to have been from NetStar (the request form). Between the dealer and MBUSA seems to be where things went wrong. The SM at my dealer said this has happened a few times, including a fresh batch of G-wagons that arrived with options modified. Customers didn't pick up on changes and rejected delivery. Don't blame them, but bad situation all around. With limited parts availability and long lead times, I'm hopeful others can avoid disappointment. Probably no worse feeling like your brand new SUV showing up after months of waiting with 16-inch couch coasters, painted in the wrong color, and missing a feature you wanted. lol
This might be a poorly conceived conspiracy theory but an automated system shouldn’t have these errors.
I hesitate to say it but wonder if the Factory makes some changes to balance orders with the supply of components. For example they are getting more orders for Black wheels than they estimated (running short now) so substitute a different wheel. This supply issue can happen with every Manufacturer since they use JIT, but normally they would put the component on restraint. On a Dealer stock order there won’t be much push back from one component change with the shortage of cars. With the wheel example they would need to constrain the Night Package. This might not sit well. The customer with a special order will probably still take the car after waiting for several months...if not the Dealer will get more inventory but maybe lose a sale.

Granted there's a lot of complexity to vehicle manufacturing, but it's evident by the posts in this thread that MB could really elevate the ownership experience from deposit to delivery. Just not sure if the demand would justify the expense.
