This "assumes" you already have Wired-Android-Auto - and if you do - can I ask "Why" you want to spend extra $100's and get Wireless Android now ?
If for any reason you Don't Have Android - then that is a different kettle of fish.
Frankly - on the China/Asia side - who are the the Android-King's - they have entire system replacements to move up to a Full Android System - which also gives you Wireless-A as part of that - but heck here in the US losing MBUX as part of that for here makes a full Android
Fortunately - MB is committed to Car-Play AND Android-Auto - and frankly Apple gives MB/Daimler a LOT of flak about keeping Android (other German manufrs have wilted a bit).
And Yes - in like 2yrs when MBUX is changed to be more in line with the 2021 S-Class - ultimately Wireless-CarPlay/Wireless-Android will become a "standard".
Just trying to be helpful - keep the beat !

I think it is more of a convenience than anything. Pull your phone, set it on the charging pad and have it automatically connect without cables. I would like this as well for Apple CarPlay but am not going to pony up for a device. Cables are just fine - I have short ones for this purpose.

I have a fast charger in my car because none of the MB USBC ports deliver enough power for a fast charge. I'd rather plug my phone into my fast charger and connect wirelessly to AA than my current wired setup that takes forever to charge. I also like the option of just leaving my phone in my pocket and still having access to AA. Mind you, I really shouldn't have to pay for this feature, you would think it would have been standard on a car like this when several non- luxury brands offer it. As mucn as I love my 450, little things like this and our poor excuse for a remote start function really tick me off ....

AA wireless
I have purchased an AA wireless, not arrived yet, sent a message to the developer, replied stating it works seamlessly with MBUX...so here's hoping, will report back once installed.I find it a bit tight to connect the phone and lay it in the wireless charger..far quicker for a wireless connection. Would love to add the AAa wireless in the center console storage ,but MB only put USB C in there.

wrong again as is not surprising. the usb c thing as you stupidly called it is actually a usb stick thing as in when you cheap out as I did you get cheap results. switching to a known brand works perfectly. so go back to your burger flipping.

This is what happens when someone tries to overthink and fries their own brain cells.....now everyone can see the true meaning of losing focus as you’ve demonstrated this so clearly. Let’s get you back on track dear friend. As I and others have mentioned for a variety of reasons that are valid to us, we’d prefer the option to connect wirelessly to AA. Rather than expose your inferiority complex by trying to undermine everyone, and demonstrate you have no real value to add, perhaps you’d be best served by sitting on the sideline and benefit form an education so that others who have solutions can feel free to come forward without concern for petty mockery. End of conversation.

I love the Motorola MA1 (managed to get one on amazon) on my current WRX. It works almost flawlessly (disconnected only once in 3 months). I'm still waiting for my GLE53 and I'm afraid the MA1 might be too big for the AA ports in the console of GLE. If I'm right, the only AA ports are below the HVAC controls. So, I'm thinking of switching to AAwireless, which is USBC, much smaller, has great reviews and is known to provide frequent updates.
