Cup holders

Sorry for such a silly question, however I don’t understand how the adjustable front cup holders work. I do see the corresponding buttons to use for each holder, however they don’t seem to have any affect on the cup holders. They are the standard holders, not heated or cooled. Thanks

If you have the standard (non temperature control) cup holder, the button is to "unfold" the arm.

Be happy you don’t have the ones with the cool.heat option s this do not adjust. The suck as the opening is too large and I’ve had a few times where bottles or other cups most tip over...ugh

I have the heat/cool option and have experienced the same problems you describe. Surely there is some option to add that would make the holders grip plastic water bottles and cans and make them more secure?

I've been doing some searched and no luck so far...next time at the dealer I'll ask if they've heard much from customers...the engineers spent enough time to come up with the nice idea for the other cupholder....seems they would have picked up on the lack of placement security when the did the cool/heat design set up....probably a case of form follows function when they incorporated the cool/heat elements....oh well

Germans aren't known for their cupholder prowess.
The Company Line(s) were "cups are a driving distraction." You NEVER found a cup holder in an '80's German car. Darn driving purists!

Umm, do you mean you don't have the bracket arm on your cup holder with heat/cool option? Mine still have it (and it has 2 "settings"), it is just spring loaded, meaning you can't keep it down all the time.
