Issues with 2021 GLE 450

Hello all
Have 10,000 miles on my 2022 GLE 450, and here are some issues:

--I paid the extra grand or so for the Burmester sound system--the absolute worst system I have ever heard. My 2015 GLE 350 Harmon Kardon system was light years better than this. Can barely hear any sound coming from the door speakers either. Any thoughts?

--I feel every bump in the road with this GLE 450 than I did with my ML350. Tried reducing air pressure without improvement. Came with Cooper tires. Thoughts?

--My car has lost power twice, and the dealer both times stated that it is due to the hybrid battery--but there is no fix for it except to reset the code.

--I have a very notable intermittent rough downshift from 3rd to second gear. MB could not duplicate. Anyone else?

Thank you in advance!

1…..Have you played with the settings and equalizer?
2…..Size tires you have and did you follow air pressure recommendation from sticker on gas door? Airmatic or standard suspension? Run flats?
3…..Haven’t experienced that problem. I’m sure there would be some kind of documentation saved on the car if it happened. Did you tow it in or were you able to restore power after shutting off? See a different service dealer
4…..Sometimes I get same thing doesn’t really bother me it’s the way car engine and transmission is designed, I think.
I’m not a mechanic but did do test drives with different dealers before ordering mine and same thing would happen on the 450 but not on the 350. If it really bothers you see a different service dealership.

1. Yep. The system absolutely sucks. My old self-installs with Panasonic tape decks and JBL speakers back in 1970's cars would blow it away sound-wise. I rented a Chevy Traverse recently and the stereo was head and shoulders above the BrauMeister system in my GLE. There's people on here that defend this piece of crap though. Check the thread mentioned above, the equalizer and other settings can help make the system tolerable at lower volumes. The satellite radio coupled with the system is really a challenge as both are muddy low-fi. The BrauMeister system is saving my ears as I have no desire to crank up the music any more.

2. Ride on normal pavement is awesome, I have the Michelins. Potholes can be jarring at times but that is more the fault of terrible roads I think.

3. Luckily I haven't experienced #3.

4. #4 is frustrating too, I think it's exacerbated by the regenerative system. It's unsettling that the downshifting/slowdowns wouldn't be more seamless but I've kind of gotten used to it.

1- Use another sound source such as Spotify at the very high downlead speed connected via cable to the usbc designated for phone connection and you will fall in love with the system.
2- 31 Lbs. is what the fuel door says. Mine came inflated at 68.
3- So far at the same mileage it has not been an issue.
4- Be thankful we live in a world that we can let something like that be a concern. It will quickly stop bothering you.

I have experiences the stalling issue too, my car has been with mercedes for 5 weeks and they can't replicate the issue and can't fix, they want to give the car back, it's too dangerous to be on the road!

They will take care of it, GLE is one of the best vehicles of all time and one of MB's most successful SUV's.

Given his situation, that's a kind of rude statement. Try a little empathy.

My 2021 GLE 450 has had the problem of rough downshifting, from 3rd to 2nd gear, since the I took it off the lot. I had my dealer look at it but they could not replicate it. I feel it every time I drive the car.
I also have an issue with ventilation system when AC is on. When it is on "auto" setting, it is always on full blast regardless of the temperature inside the cabin. I have to take it off "auto" and manually lower the fan speed.

Other than these two annoyances, I love driving the car.

Just trying to be supportive, I mean you agree don't you? You own one of these fabulous rides, right?

Megs, go into the climate control menu. From there lower the fan speed while in auto setting. That will do it.

I try to be supportive and tell everyone to reach out to a Mercedes Executive Referral Manger at customer service. They are a wealth of knowledge, very helpful, and extremely prompt at returning your calls or emails.
I say that because @E55Greasemonkey already beat me to my normal response.

On a supportive note, once I got rid of MB and the dealership and took problems into my own hands, I might have my problem fixed.
