GLE problems seem to be on the decline

I routinely check this site for useful information from knowledgeable contributors. Although I do enjoy cars, I don’t consider myself a fanatic. When I initially started reading such negative comments about the GLE, I was beginning to wonder if I had made the correct decision in purchasing mine. More recently, IMHO, the comments seem to be less negative and rather more focused on a specific issue someone may be experiencing, or perhaps someone reaching out for good advice. This is the third model year of production for the V167, and as with most anything , mistakes are corrected and reliability improves. Just wondering if any of our more avid contributors are feeling the same as I do? Just thanking all of you who have supplied me with beneficial info that has made my experience more enjoyable.

Quite possible, and would be good news if things work out that way.

Keep an eye out for soft cams on the M256 inline six cylinder. This might be a one-off example, or it might not be. M-B has soft cams in their genes.

At first glance that reads like good advice but ultimately only serves to sow doubt when no actual issues exist

Quite right. Only one report of M256 issues so far. Hopefully they won't be widespread. The E53 owner probably believes (his wife) has an issue with the car.

Two ‘21 GLEs in this family. Zero issues as well.

I’ve had two of the GLE350s: 2021 and 2022. Never a single issue….not a single rattle, vibration, extraneous sound. They are the RWD…the 2021 had the 20” tires…rode a bit differently, not in a good way. It averaged 21.2 mpg…highway, streets combo. The year 2022 with the standard 19” tires gives a nicer, quieter ride…and is currently averaging 25.2 mpg for the past 1,100 miles. Seems to have a better turning radius as well. Very satisfied…. Wish I were able to say the same re my 2021 S580. It was bought back by the dealership at the full price I paid, including tax.

This place is a joke.
One could also surmise that less units are being sold as the new model "hype" is gone....therefore less problems. More likely though we are in year 3 so most of the bugs have been worked out. I can only guess that C class and GLC's are the big sellers in the U.S. as the ML/GLE/GLS platform has historically been a mid volume seller. Hard to say as I just got back from a recent 1600 mile road trip and I saw only a few MB's on the road. A couple 167 GLE's driving, and a GLS on the side of the road with the flashers on (yes I'm serious) but there was also a Ford pickup so I couldn't tell which one broke down 😃 Mostly I saw small import SUV's and tons of Chevy/GMC small suv's, and everything looked the same except the Hyundai/Kia suv that looks like the Mustang Mach-E 😒 My local dealer has 3 GLE 350/450 on the lot. They've had 0 the last 1.5 years. Demand is falling...
