Post Oil for GLE 350 4matik (v167)

Hello.

Can someone tell me, I have a 2019 Mercedes GLE 350e 4matik. VIN - 4JGFB4KB8LA054747 what kind of oil to put in there? tolerance 229.5 is understandable, but 5w30 or 5w40? My VIN code is not found by any site known to me.
Some sites say 5w30 some 5w40. And the car is exploited in Europe, in particular in Poland, where both winters are good and summers are good. In general, please advise.

I was told you can use either as long as it meets the 229.XX spec. The latest theory is to use the lightest oil that meets the spec (e.g. 5w30).

229.52 - only 5w-30
229.5 - only 5w-40

Some say that my m264 needs 229.5 and 5w-40, since summers are hot in Europe, others say that I need 229.52 because I have a particulate filter, it’s not clear who to believe. And the dealer did not write this information in my instructions and seems to be carefully hiding it.

Which one I have, only someone who can decode my VIN will probably be able to see

There is a member providing data cards based on VIN. Send your VIN to him.... https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...-datacard.html

It's not going to tell which oil you need, but perhaps you can gain enough info from it to make an educated decision.

Viscosity is a measure of an oil’s resistance to flow, higher will flow slower choice is dependent on your location's temperature fluctuations however, chart shows both are in the same range. I suggest asking your local MB dealer what they use.

per MB the lower weight (30) would provide better FE.

Yes, I myself am leaning towards 229.52 5w30. But the only problem is I can't find the brand of oil in the EU where it will be 229.52 5w30 API: SP. Everywhere API SN

I use Pennzoil Platinum Euro LX 0W-30. Made in Germany. Pennzoil Platinum is THE best oil.

if I'm not mistaken, 0w is not for the cold winters that happen in Poland.

The 0W oils are best for cold winters.

229.52 adds for diesel motors. It helps with DPF staff. 229.5 was directed toward gasoline motors, especially amg models. So, if winter allows then i would go with 5-40. My dealer has MB brand oil, (mobile 1 synth) for sale, so i just get it there when i buy a filter.

Not so, Mercedes allows on the use of my engine, 229.5 and 229.52, than 229.52 is a newer modification than 229.5 - he poured, and yes chose 5w40. But for diesel Mercedes itself recommends 229.51.
*But they honestly say, my personal opinion, that perhaps these nuances and important for cars AMG or what is exploited for wear and tear, but in normal life, it does not matter

Poland year-round temperatures don't get extremely cold or hot, and the 350 engine isn't an AMG being pushed to its limits unless you take it to the track or ride up and down mountains a lot. Either of the oils will be fine. One-grade thinner oil might improve fuel efficiency but you probably won't notice it. In the end, just get as close to what the manufacturer recommends as long as the viscosity window is greater and not less than it.

Use anyone of these....
https://operatingfluids.mercedes-benz.com/sheet/229.52

For Countries that gets close or below 0c use 5W-30

Only thing I still don't know is what is the best oil 5W-30 regardless of price from this list.
