Especially if you have a wife who will also drive your vehicle* haha
Honestly though, winter package was a no brainer for me. That is a desired feature with the steering wheel when eventually reselling. Same reason I added the 4 zone climate and rear heated seats…..I have a small kiddo and might not use right now, but for a potential future buyer with teenagers that’s a huge perk.
At end of day, we’re discussing features that result in 0.5%-2% increase in purchase price. In the grand scheme this is pretty small and makes your vehicle more ‘loaded’ when it comes to selling onwards.
In my experience, aesthetic stuff like Carbon fiber for example isn’t really going to improve your resale but ‘useful’ features like certain packages actually will.
I guess when it comes to carbon fiber it is like choosing trim options and paint colours, everyone will have different preferences. As for the options you mentioned, they are good to have yes, especially if the backseats gets occupied often.
It is optional in the order guy. When i ordered the car, i found out in the order paperwork and told my dealer, she said it was MB's glitch and should be fixed. Couple days earlier, i emailed her to check on the production date and to confirm if the winter package was removed. she told me that the winter package is in all incoming cars so far and the production date was postponed to June 26. I checked several dealership's invoice around SoCal dealerships and found all these incoming cars have the winter package in them and charged $450. It looks like it is not an optional order but mandatory from MB
Yup I found the same thing when I ordered my 24 GLE 53 SUV. The winter package is mandatory, heated steering wheel and I think
heated windshield washer fluid. But as someone already stated, even though I live in SWFL, my wife will like the heated steering wheel.
I ordered a 2024 GLE 450e today, it's scheduled for build in August (Alphine Grey with Macchiato interior - wish they offered red or blue seat options)
I was able to get it with the magic vision wipers for those concerned it was removed
My biggest gripe is I can't get the 22" black wheels, that's only available on the pure ICE version for some reason

That's awesome! Weird MB doesn't list these on any of the GLE Order Guides or the website. What was the price on the magic vision control? $350?
Yes, I believe so
I didn't get the trailer hitch, but I'm still in the period where I can make changes to my order - anyone have an opinion for or against the trailer hitch? I'm thinking that getting it will open me to a wider pool of buyers when it inevitably comes time to sell even if I never use it

An SUV is neutered w/o a hitch. Yes, easier resale, and there are uses even if you never tow anything (eg, bike rack).

Did they announce any prices or give you any clues? If yes, how does the price compare to a regular GLE450, did they give you any hints…and I assume you’ll get the $7500 Fed tax discount?

That Fed Tax credit is not so easy to get anymore. The GLE 450e will need to have an MSRP below $80,000 to qualify. You need to meet maximum income requirements also. The X5 50e (made in the USA) qualifies for a $3750 credit as long as you keep the MSRP below $80,000. Since the GLE450e will be made in the US, it should also qualify for the $3750. Depending on if it meets the battery sourcing requirements, it could qualify for the full $7500.00.
I make too much money to qualify for the credit unfortunately. This is to incentivize lower income earners to go electric since you have to pay a premium up front for these vehicles.

Didn’t know there was an income limit and a MSRP limit now on the Fed tax credit— thanks for that info.
Surprised to hear it has the same base price as a regular 450.
My 2024 GLE 450 was in YELLOW status last week per my sales associate. He stated that my order would would be locked in a few days. What is YELLOW status? Today he stated my build slot/date is end of July. I have a PO number on my build sheet now. How soon do you think I will receive my new suv?

Yellow means the build will lock down soon and it will go Red, meaning it will no longer be possible to make any changes.
Make sure all your options are in order.

Don't wait.
My order locked two days after it went yellow (not two weeks), and I wasn't able to add 3D Burmester, which was a "must have" for me. Its my only regret about my configuration, and it may drive me to another vehicle before I planned.
