Buckle up before starting engine. If there is a front passenger in the seat ask them to do so as well.

RJ automotive coded my 22 GLE53 so these chimes are off. You'll have to check with one of the coders here if your model year can be modified.

RJ did the same for me. There's also @EleBest too.

A: Seatbelt Chime: Gong Gong Sound If you don’t fasten seatbelt

B: A small icon showing up every time you start the car, reminding you fasten rear seat belt if there is passenger behind, it will auto disappear after a while.

Both A and B can be code off.

I had the same issue on my 2022 E450, turns out it was a software glitch. Took it to the dealership and they updated the infotainment system, fixed the problem and no more annoying chime.

​​​​@EleBest , I had RJ code the removal of the dings BUT I still have this annoying icon while I'm driving if my seatbelt isn't buckled. Any way to get rid of this?

The seatbelt warning can be disabled using a LAUNCH scanner.

That is telling you that Automatic Emergency Braking is off. It may be that it will refuse to function without the seat belt. If it engages and your seat belt is not fastened, you will be thrown forward into the steering wheel.

Who would want to drive without wearing their seatbelt?
