2 Surprises on our new GLE
Just picked up a GLE350 last night. Was surprised to see it not have the auto eco start stop. Test drove a '15 ML250 BTC last year that it. Also had a new loaner '16 GLA 4Matic for 2 days while waiting for our GLE and that had it as well. Low and behold, nowhere to be found here and that is not a complaint.
2nd thing is that on the front bumper, it looks like I have the parking sensors although I do not have parktronic. I wonder if MB is now using just one part across the board irrelevant of the options ordered?

Here are answers:
1) The 350 did not do better in the EPA test cycle with stop/start, so it doesn't have it. Others did, so they have it.
2) for cars without distronic, there are plugs where the sensors normally go. So they could be mistaken for the sensors.

2) It hit me this morning that those may also be for the Collision Prevention Assist. I'm sure someone on here would know for sure.

To be helpful...
1) The GLE350 has never been presented in any Mercedes literature and/or config tool as ever having ECO as standard, or option - so this is not a case where you should have gotten something you did not get.
The GLE owner's manual covers all features - in all GLE models - and the ECO section page 151-153 is for those GLE models - not the GLE350 - that have ECO.
2) To those readers who are not familiar with the GLE front bumper - but may be familiar with W166 1st gen ML's - the GLE front bumper has larger front openings with plastic waffle-grills.
On GLE's w/Parktronic - on the front has a additional sensors mounted in each front corner of the smooth bumper - w/o Parktronic you do not have each corner sensor mounted on the smooth bumper corners.
The Parktronic has additional front sensors mounted in the waffle grill openings - and Collision prevention assist also has two front sensors mounted in the center front waffle grill opening.
I hope this helps both the OP and ther forum members reading this thread - when in doubt - go see a GLE to see what I am describing.
Keep the beat !

Something else I found recently, no (power) headrest adjustment on the front pasenger seat anymore like on the ML's. On the GLE, it looks like there's a silver button for the headrest, but it doesn't move.

Nevermind, I found it. Power headrest is part of the memory passenger seat & rear seat ent pre-wiring which I didn't notice was missing. From the MB site:
Rear Seat Entertainment system prewiring
Optional / $170
Factory prewiring is an essential element for installation of the factory-offered Rear Seat Entertainment system by the dealer. It's already included if the system is factory-installed, and not required for the accessory system. It also includes a power head restraint and lumbar support for the front passenger seat. (Disclaimer)

Talking about head rests - Just another observation I have...
What I don't like about the GLE controls is that the rear view mirror doesn't move with the change of the memory seat button for different drivers. My wife is a stickler for everything to go back to the same position after I drive the car. My S and SL class MB's have this. There are a few things that are missing with the GLE that you would think would be standard.
