Is 275/45/20 a proper replacement option for 265/45/20
Does anyone have experience with 275/45/20 tyre size for his GLE? The car comes standart with 265/45/20 summer tyres and I think of placing 275/45/20 winter ones. The reason is 275 is much more common size and the options are more while price is lower. If I place it on 275/40/20 the clearance will be slightly smaller which is not ok for winter, while with 275/45 it will be higher with 10 mm. The question is apart from the slightly incorrect numbers of the speedometer, will there will be any problem for the car itself changing the tyre size to 275/45/20?

What rims do you have? My major concern is that according to specialized websites the widest tyre you can safely place on 9 inch wide rim is 265. All 20" MB rims for the ML/GLE are 9" wide, including the AMG ones, only third party rims can be wider. Thats why I want to have real info from owners who have put 275 tyres on their 9" wide rims.
Do you think the airmatic will have some problems when determining the ground clearance according to a certain speed since the clearance is different from standart because of the tyres?

It's clear how to calculate the tyre dimensions, the question is if the car will suffer if I raise the ground clearance with 0.5 cm with the wider tyres or not. Because of the higher center of gravity in correspondance to the airmatic suspension.

hello, i got on my gle350d airmatic a pair of yokohama geolandar at g012 275/55/r20, in the front dont get to much tire rub, but at the back gets more.. not to much, sport mode gets less.. good choice for who need some off road tracks.
just to know this car fit until 31'9 wheels inch. But is need to check the tire rub, in my benz i have some litle damage in the plastic area inside the wheels.
