Hello everyone,
I have 2018 GLE 350 4MATIC with less them 80k miles. I juat started having issues with my transmission. Driving under the comfort selection it kind jerks/jumps into 5th gear. I did replaced fluid and reset adaptation, and still doing same. Sometimes I have feeling that takes more time to engage into 5th. No other gear issues at all. Does anyone had any similar issues? I had 2012 before this one (ML series) and absolutely never had any issues.

How was the fluid replaced, did you follow the procedure in XENTRY, temperature during the fluid change matters, was the torque converter also drained, how was the fluid condition? Did you confirm the quantity of the fluid is correct?

It was done by my local Mercedes dealer. And that's a yes.At least what shows on 600$ receipt from them..
There are some "transmission reset" threads and videos floating around. The responses suggest that it actually works. I'd be inclined to try that first - you can do it yourself.

Not many 350s/450s that I've seen with such issue.... My first GL car was GL450 and I never had this issue, but I had similar issues with two my of my Mbenz with the 9G transmission coupled to the V8. read this thread below. it has the ultimate solution to your issue. Note as posted in my formal service notes (all posted and documented in the thread linked below to help others), Mbenz did that service at no charge to me all based on goodwill towards repar (I paid nothing, 100% free) even though car was out of warranty and I was 2nd owner. It's a well documented problem; reference the right TSB, and if you had the car since new, there is a good chance that a good SA will list that as factory defect (cause it is) especially if you find the right TSB for the GLE. Otherwise you might end up with a 100 or 200 USD for technicians time to the adaptation (car must be driven around while adaptation is conducted to be effective with one tech driving and other tech with PC in passenger seat, in other words WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE ON THE ROAD (this is important, this was exactly how it was done on my car), or alternatively in the shop on a standstill rotating wheels). Don't listen to any quick reset solutions that can be done in your garage or inside a 3rd party shop garage in 5-10 minutes. That will fix it for 100-500 miles only and u will continue to deal with same issue over and over again. Also, you need to Mbenz dealer to install the most recent transmission control unit update they have for your car (don't forget to mention that).

I will definitely try and have them do as you explained. Even if I have to pay them hour labor, I'm OK with that. As long as it gets fixed. Thank you for the input.

Hope is not the conviction that something will turn out well but the certainty that something makes sense, regardless of how it turns out.

You're welcome, and glad to help!. Keep us posted. I did exactly that, and so many owners in that thread that I shared also did the same - they all reported success including me.

Mine does this on my 400. When I'm only on open throttle only when it's at operating temperature from 2nd to 3rd gear. I did not have a chance to take it to my friend over at MB to do the update on the TCM and ECM.
