How to remove cage on cargo fuse box 2025 GLE450e

My ambient light is only working in driver side. I want to get to the 417 fuse in cargo area but it has this plastic cage over the fuse box blocking the fuse. How do you remove it?
I’ve tried a flat blade screw driver but to no avail. Stupid design.

The smaller fuses in you pic have retention tabs that simply push to the side to clear the fuse. The retention tab on the big fuse is different?

I think those are relays under the cage you've circled.

Checked my fuse blocks, but none of them use a captive cage like that one.

It's a 2025 GLE450e model
I'm looking at the manual. From the photo I see interior fabric. There is a fuse box is in the cargo compartment on the right side,
fuse box on the driver side of the cockpit and fuse box in the front passenger footwell.

I would pull the F417 which is a 7.5 amp brown fuse well hidden in the trunk panel. You need to remove the piggy back fuse holder to access it. pull the fuse out for about 15 seconds or so, and re-installed the same fuse if it's not blown if it's blown replace the fuse, to see if it's working. If not working take it to the dealer and have the software updated. Should be under warranty.

If you can unfasten the entire fuse/relay block and flip it over, there might be release tabs on the backside. Just curious -- why do you need to access the relays?

I can’t get to that 417 fuse because the cage is in the way unless I’m missing something.

The part number is A1679063103. I'm looking at photo's on the net. It maybe held by tabs. Let me research it more. If not I see if my sister can give me the keys to her husband 2025 GLE350 and I can do a quick peak without him knowing when I can get a chance.

I have an appt with dealer Thursday. But today, after 8 days of the ambient light not working except on driver side door, started working today. I’m still gonna take it in because all of this started when I was charging with the Mercedes charger and a standard outlet. Once the car was about halfway full. I started smelling something burning. I don’t know if it was the outlet or the car because I could not smell either From the plug or from the car. I just know it was in the air. It could be a coincidence or it could be related, but it’s odd that it would not work and then all of a sudden start working eight days later.
