2024 GLE 53 Heads Up Display
I’m looking at an in stock GLE 53 and unfortunately it does not have HUD, what is everyone’s opinion on not having this option. I typically use CarPlay and Apple Maps and my understanding is only street names and arrows show up on the HUD. I would order a a new one but the discounts are $7500 for 2024 and not sure I can get that much off on a new one. Thanks!

I have HUD on my 63e Coupé. Most of the time, I tend not to notice it. Also, turn by turn only shows up when using MB navigation. CarPlay doesn’t display in HUD, but music played via Bluetooth does.

that's a tough call.... I have the HUD on my '24 GLE53. I don't think I'd have a car w/o it. It really aids in keeping your eyes on the road (IMO). But $7500 off. That would be very temping. Any chance to find one with the Pinnacle trim in stock near by and negotiate a similar deal?
You could always ask to see one with the HUD and make up your mind once you get to see/drive one. There must be one on the lot, even if not a GLE53...

I have no idea how it would affect resell but probably makes zero difference on trade-in. With that preamble, I would miss it from a novelty perspective but it makes very little difference in my driving experience. If you wear polarized glasses, it's useless.

I can confirm that Android Auto using both Waze and Google Maps, you get the basic navigation arrow and distance of the next maneuver. I'm surprised that CarPlay doesn't display similar basic navigation guidance on the HUD.

Yes it does.
It's a very important safety feature for me, so I retired my polarized sunglasses and bought non polarized prescription lenses so I can use the feature.
So my "must haves" are head up display, massage seats, non-run flats, Euro spec headlights, and ARC. Of those, the only thing that I can change is run flat tires.
