Question What is the recommended tire inflation pressure on the 20”

What is the recommended tire inflation pressure on the 20” that comes with Sports Package?

I have factory ordered with standard 19” wheel but decided to upgrade to Sports Package at the dealer and all the tire inflation information that I can find in the car is for 19” wheel.

Will the brand of tire make any difference (Pirelli vs Dunlop)? I have Pirelli

Picture of Tire and Loading Information placard located on the driver’s door B-pillar would be Bonus!!!

Thanks in advance.

Different tire inflation pressure for front & back?

I believe Bob has five spoke 20” with Pirelli(https://mbworld.org/forums/glk-class...-thread-4.html), which is what I have. I hope his wrong because after reading his comment, I went to my truck and sure enough, tire pressure was 35PSI just like Andy’s post(picture).

Wait a minute, according to Picture from Andy, it says 35PSI in front and 39PSI in rear, is this correct? Or is it 35PSI front & back for five spoke 20”?

Can anyone with 5 spoke take a picture and post as andy has done to clear up any doubt.

It appears there is some confusion about tire pressures according to the stickers on my car. I have the 20" wheels with Pirellis. There are two stickers on the B pillar, both read 35 front and 39 rear. However, the owner's manual also states to check the pressures shown on the sticker inside the fuel filler flap. There the instruction is 33 front and 33 rear for normal load and 35 front 39 rear for maximum load. It looks as though the stickers on the B pillar are giving the specs for maximum load, but they don't say so. Confusion.

By looking at that picture I would say normal weight you should have 33 all around, with the only exception if you are fully loaded. With the above post mention of the gas cap also stating 33 front and 33 rear, my asumption is that is correct not 33 and 39.

Does Canada use PSI or is that what MB put on all cars going to North America?

Thanks Bob.

My dealer filled it 35PSI front and back, so I guess I need to remove some air.

The owner of 20” 5 or 7 spoke wheel, are you running with 33PSI front & back?

I would imagine 33 PSI would give softer ride.

I have no idea. Still driving with whatever the dealer put in them.

I am running 33 psi all round and have done from new. It only struck me after a 2500km trip that the stickers appeared to have different instructions. I do believe the 35/39 combination is for maximum load since that is the only recommendation on the B pillar stickers and the practice with the two S class Mercedes I have had previously was to stipulate a higher psi figure for maximum vehicle load than a normal load. The stickers were much clearer about it though.
This sure needs clarification in the owner's manual

I'm picking mine up in Sindelfingen in late-July, taking a factory tour (of the models made there) and going through the M-B delivery dog & pony show. I'll be interested to see what tire pressure they roll it out with since it's (presumably) fully prepared to hit the road. Will ask the technician as well unless someone has a definitive answer before then.

But I suspect Baby G has it correct...33/33 for normal use and 35/39 when loaded, towing, etc.

A respected wheel and brake installer told me that ANY tire should be inflated to 75-80% of the maximum PSI listed on the sidewall of the tire. My 17" Michelin Pilots went from 28, 32 to 36. In the past, overinflation made the car steer like a bicycle. After an alignment, the higher PSI was just fine.
