LED daytime running lights

I can't find too many options of adding LED DRLs to the GLK at a reasonable price. I want to do it myself if I can. Does anyone know how to take the black plastic piece off where the fog lights are ? The led related parts seems cheap. http://www.oznium.com/leds

I found some DIY pics of a Mazda CX7 and it looks pretty good.

just wait a bit for somebody to make AMG knock off version, or maybe they'll be selling for decent price.

From what I can see, you must remove the front wheel and tire then remove the entire inner wheel-well liner. This will expose the lower bumper to gain accesss to the fog light bulb assembly. (If it doesn't, you must remove the entire front bumper skin.) If it's like all other Benz's, the entire fog-light assembly can be removed by undoing several plastic rivets. Cutting the assembly to fit the new LED/DRL's will be the trick.

Let us know how it goes... pix will be great as well!

Good luck.

Can reach the fog from below, removing the plastic underneath the radiator.
This is the result, the cost of 50 euros.
Sorry for my English and photos with phone

that's cool, how did you do the wiring? I think i would still go with ones that replace the fogs completely.

GJ on those LEDs

For those without the fog light chrome surround, I think the LED might look better if it is placed vertically against the trim closer to the middle lower bumper opening

I think it would look better if the stock round fog light was removed...looks too crowded otherwise. That's just me though.

Can you please tell me what lights are on when your DRL's are on and what position is the Exterior Lamp Switch in. In the US the DRL are our headlights in my case they are the Bi-Xeonxs and I don't want to run them during the day. Thanks

Can the round ones be reloved

Are they just bolted on or cut into the grill?

I hope that MB offers the same retrofit kit they are doing in the E class. The 11 E come with the LED strip standard and they are offering an upgrade kit for the 10...I do not know why MB has done this with the GLK. Personally i would have it installed tomorrow if possible.

You know you can disable DRLs from the settings, right?

yeah...only the US models only.

Does anyone know if a US dealer could re-program this on the Canadian models?

Maybe replacing the fog lamps is the way to go, but I kinda like those...

It looks like RUIYU's DRL's which I think in the US we call parking lights and LED's are on at the same time and that great but what happens when you have the head lights and fog lamps on, are you lit up like a Christmas tree?
