Official Gas mileage thread!
I thought we could start a gas mileage thread. If we all keep everything in the same format, km or miles on so many liters or gallons, it will be easy to compare.
I just filled the GLK up,
I went 340 km on 45.8 liters, all city driving. (13.4 L /100 km)
212.5 miles on 12.1 US GAL (17.56 US MPG)
212.5 miles on 10.1 IMP GAL (21.03 IMP MPG)

After 20,469Km of driving and a recent service my average is 13.18l/100Km - 18MPG US and 21.6MPG Canada of mixed driving. Strangely enough the last entry was one of my lowest non only highway results. 10.99l/100Km, I had my service at the beginning of this fillup, not sure if its just a statistical fluke. Will keep an eye on it.

Mine has 10,000 km mileage on trip computer
14.5L/100km (city) -> 7km/1L
10L/100Km (highway) -> 10km/1L
** average fuel : 100km on 8.15 L

I think we already had this thread somewhere but here are my observations:
I've been getting 16-17 mpg due to cold weather in mixed dirving, this ususally drops to 14-15 as local driving increases.
Worst I've seen is 8.5mpg at average speed of 3mph for an hour.
Best I've seen is 24 cruising at about 65.
If you go faster, mpg drops to 19-20mph.
I don't care much about mpg's but I wish tank was bigger. 250 mile range is silly.

hmm... great observation nycglk..
now lets all use cruise control and stay at 65mph or 104km/hr.. that way we have the best mileage haha..
mb should release the blu-tec of the glk350 in my opinion.. more folks will jump into the bandwagon..
cheers

Actually..........here in Ft Myers.....I passed a GLK 320 CDI.
I assume that is a European car?
It had Florida plates so I guess it is "import-able"............
Looked just like my car except it had some kind of brightwork on the back and different wheels.
That is a car I would love to have.
Enough power............. and 38 MPG? Yahoo!

I'm averaging 22mpg on rural roads back and forth to work with mid grade to 93 octane. I get about 24.5 mpg on the highway and sometimes a little better on flat straight 8-10 hour runs (winter time).

City driving, I still get about 16-17L / 100kms
Highway driving, its about 10.8L / 100kms
My GLK has 3500kms. I hope it gets better in the city soon (some members 12ish L / 100kms)

The salesman told me it was 1500km, not to tow anything and no full throttle acceleration. He said to not use the cruise on the highway, it's good to vary the engine speed.

This may be a little premature but......
I just picked mine on this past Monday. Last night we went for a drive, maybe 90 minutes or so. I reset the system before we left. It was a mix of highway and city streets. I used a light foot on it, and the mpg reading was
22.8. Not bad, it put my mind at ease. I was afraid I'd end up with 12 mpg, and at $3.00 a gallon, I don't care how much money you have, that would put a dent in the old wallet.
I'll repost when I have more miles on it.

Just did 300 km, mostly highway driving and got 11L/100 km. I'm impressed - the GLK was fully loaded with my family.
During the first 150 km drove through some nasty wet snow weather. Had to turn on the digital speedometer as I really had no concept of how fast I was driving as the GLK was awesome in the weather and it didn't feel that 'bad out.'

SInce the weather has been warming up here and I haven't had to warm up the vehicle or use the heater or heated seats, I am now getting approx. 30km more on a tank.
