Should get headlight covers
So there is CL63 parked one car over. It's newer design so can't be more than 4 years old. The headlights have this foggy tint on them already. I hope xpel covers will prevent this from happening.

This is what heppens when you either run your car through too many car washes, (harsh detergents) or apply wax to your polycarbonate lenses when you detail your car.

Good to know,
off topic but how's rest of your fleet holding up?
Would really love to get either used GT-R or Cayman down the road. I know those are two very different cars.

I used the Meguire's plastic polishing kit on the covers on my Dodge Ram and it worked great. I am sure similar kits from Eastwood, Mothers, etc. would do about the same.
This shouldn't be needed on our GLKs yet, but maybe a few years down the road...

These polishing kits are fine for most lenses, but the MB uses a slightly harder PC lens, plus it's super clear. If I had to use something on it to keep it clean without wax build-up it would be a product called "Nu-Finish". Trust me, it worked wonders on my Nissan GT-R. Took off the yellow completely WITHOUT leaving any scratches whatsoever.

What kills headlight lenses quickly is Ultraviolet radiation and the cleaners commonly found in window cleaners like Alcohol and Ammonia.
The window cleaners will cause microscopic cracks to develop in the surface of the plastic lenses by direct chemical reactions with the plastic.
Ultraviolet radiation causes the plastic to break down resulting in the same microscopic cracks developing.
Most headlight lenses have a thin UV absorbing coating applied to both sides of the lens to protect it from Ultraviolet radiation from external sources like the sun and from within if the vehicle has HID lighting. If this coating is damaged or polished off by improper cleaning the lens material is quickly damaged.
As an old airplane driver I have known of this issue for over thirty years since most aircraft don't have glass windows. Most any pilot shop will sell window cleaners that are rated as being safe for "Aircraft Transparencies" These items have to pass testing by the people who manufacture aircraft windows before being rated as being safe to use.
See this for more details:

A typical cleaner is like this:
PlexALL leaves an antistatic protective coating on all aircraft windows both plastic and heated glass. PlexALL is also safe to use on cockpit instruments and displays. Water Based, Non corrosive, Alcohol & Ammonia Free. Meets Boeing Spec. D6-17487P & D6-7127M

The GT-R is just a fantastic car. I simply love driving my Nissan GT-R on long interstate trips. (Surely it's Nissan engineering at its finest. Much better quality than their Infiniti line IMO) It is so advanced, so fast when needed, it's beyond anything I have ever owned or driven before!
