Help! Sunroof won't close.
Where do I start?

2010 GLK 350 4Matic with 22,000 miles.
Your sunroof does sound like something may be in the way, binding or lack of lubrication.

and you cannot see the cause.
You could be severely or even fatally injured
when closing the sliding sunroof with
increased closing force or if the antientrapment
feature is deactivated. Make sure
that nobody can become trapped when
closing the sliding sunroof.
closing:
Immediately after the sliding sunroof
blocks, pull the
of resistance and hold it until the sliding
sunroof is closed.
The sliding sunroof is closed with increased

closing again:

of resistance and hold it until the sliding

The sliding sunroof is closed without the
anti-entrapment feature.
Pressing and holding the sliding sunroof
switch to close the sliding sunroof
immediately after it had been blocked two
times will cause the sliding sunroof to close
without the anti-entrapment feature for as
long as you hold the switch.

The instructions posted earlier appear to be for how to close a sticky sunroof. Seems they have a safety built in in case you get your head or arms or something in the opening while it is closing. Sticky rails would trigger same safety.
By the way, after two Benzes with sunroofs, I specially ordered our 2014 GLK250 without a sunroof! Slow learner, I am afraid.
Once it is closed, you then hold the switch for 5 seconds. That sets the electronic limit at that spot. Then you move it to the full open position and hold for 5 seconds...resynch complete.
The same thing works for the limits of how far your windows open and close and also your seat limits.
