Adding Philips HID Kits
OK After messing with aftermarket B grade kits I've come to the conclusion that the philips kits are the only way to go.....so I took out the cheapo chinese and ordered the genuine H7's for the low and highs and the H9 for the fog.
Will install em this weekend as it is not that easy for a noob like me.....will post pics.
Word to the wise, get the real deal and pay a lil more it's worth it. I got them for $179 a kit at speedshop (they are on special orig price was $269).
Just do a google search for speed shop on amazon and their storefront will show.

Sounds like you installed the grade "B's". What didn't you like about them. DO you know if the Phillips are made in Germany, some other place or in China?

I also installed the additional harness with a relay and resistors that connects directly to the battery. Prevents flickering and protects against any voltage drop.
The additional harness was the easy part. The PIA was installing the bulbs. Accessibility on the driver's side is next to impossible. After two weeks, I still have cuts and bruises on my hands. I need to go back in and tweek the system by moving the balasts to a more secure area and also re-arrange some wiring.
However, it was worth it. Good quality system that I trust.

i wouldn't be surprised if you have china made knockoff philips as i seen them all over china. It says made in germany, all the labels, the box, but you can tell it was not genuine.

You can buy them legit ones from hong kong and you can check it is 100% from philips. not some bogus wannabe philips like yours, lol!

I ordered from this site: http://www.philipsxenon.com/
Read the fine print on the home page.
The packaging is first class with "Made in Germany" on every part and the box.
I'm not going to get into a pi$$ing contest with you, but the products are well made with good quality and no issues after a year.
Done with this thread. Traded my GLK anyway.

It would seem that philipsxenon.com is a re-sellers site. The most important thing is that you are happy and they work properly. Makes no difference where you bough them or who made. as long as they work.
The price is always right if the buyer thinks its a good deal.

the funny thing is that the HID conversions kits made by philips are made in china and not in germany. If you think or believe that philips is made in germany then it is ok.
