Anyone made move from 20 to 18" wheels?
I felt the 20 AMG looks great but the ride and risk of curb rash were too much to handle (I did it on one wheel in just 1 month ownership). Plus the fact that the GLK is extremely vulnerable to rubber squeaks and rattles on rough road, I wonder if anyone has similar concern and made the switch to 18" for softer ride and other benefits. Frankly the GLK is already too nimble for a SUV why push it with +2 wheels and tires setup. Any comments appreciated.

I have debated dropping to a 17 or 18 inch wheel and a large tire size to improve handling and ride comfort. There is no doubt that the small wheel will ride and handle better on and off road but I can only find 19 inch wheels.

Looking for 18" with similar design
to the 20" AMG, I think that will be my best choice. I am currently running 30psi front and 32psi rear on the 20" and it feels alright for now. Still fear them curbs and the grooves at automatic car washes!

Check Craigslist....it's flooded with wheel tire combos from older ML's ($200), those might work

I switch from my 20" to 18's with Blizzaks for the winter months. The ride definately gets softer but the handling does suffer from the higher profile tires and winter thread. I used TireRack.com for the set with Elburs wheels.
