Placing an order for a GLK soon
I test drove the GLK and it was a blast, I think the 2013 is a great car. I need to go back to the dealership to test out my car seats for my two young children and then I'll be placing the following order.
White Paint
Black MBTEX
4 Matic Package
Multimedia Package
iPod Connector
Heated seats
Lane Tracking - I like the blind spot assist
Black ash or aluminum trim ( I see these in the order guide and hope I can order them, I hate the walnut trim)
MB entertainment
I would like the power lift gates, but don't want to order the premium package (don't need 14 way power seats or a heavy creaky moonroof that makes the car top heavy). I may also order the roof cargo containers, im not sure yet as i have an infant and a toddler so cant really go anywhere to use them. Anything else you guys would recommend?

Are standard lights halogen or xenon? I'll take a look when I go next week. Im trying to keep the price low and only get the must haves. Im not a big fan of very large wheels so am happy with the stock wheels.
My biggest worry is that my sons rear facing car seat won't fit. We aren't very tall or sit very far back so am hopeful that his seat will fit.
Do you guys know if I can order the black ash or aluminum accent dash? I don't see this on any of the show room cars but got a hold of an order guide that shows these at an additional $250 cost.
Also I didn't drive a glk with the blind spot system, but did drive a cayenne with this option, does anyone know if the MB system works the same?

That's good to hear regarding the child seat. We have a graco and my son is only a few months away from when we can face him forward. I'm only worried because its a tight fit in my father in laws c300. Although his seat is usually set very far back. My daughters car seat is wide but she sits forward so am not worried about it fitting.
The 2010 Honda is great for the kids, it just a pain getting a double stroller in and out of its trunk. It has a 14 cubic foot trunk where the Mercedes has a 23 cubic foot trunk.
Do you guys think I can get 4-5k of discounts off the car? Im in Nj, but willing to drive. Having driven just about every mid size and compact suv priced from20-70k the glk gives you the most for your money in terms of performance, technology, and options. I just wish it were a tad bit bigger.

if your in the US. you cannot order the multimedia package without ordering the premium package. you can delete the moonroof from the premium package and save $1,400.00 appearance and hk are worth the extra $ IMO.

Yea, dealer told me that today when he called to see if I was still interested in the car. What a waste I have to spend $2000 on useless (to me) options. I actually prefer the pano roof over the 14 way seats. He said I could get the Becker map pilot, but I'm not interested in it. I'll just have to squeeze them for more discounts.

You might want to do some research on the 20" wheels and tires before ordering that option. A major magazine road test stated that the 20" stuff increases road noise significantly over the 19" set up.

I'm only considering the stock wheels. I don't need anything larger than 19". The roads in Ny and NJ are not that great so a little more tire is a good thing.

The package is called the Q01 package (Performance Package P01 with out the pano roof.) It saves money, gets you the multimedia package, and avoids possible roof trouble. The HK system is a requirement, I agree.
