Help Choosing Winter Tires & Rims 2010 GLK350
I have recently bought a 2010 GLK350 4Matic which has come with 20" Rims and AS Pirelli tires. I must say this forum gave me excellent advise while I was looking for the vehicle. NYGLK forum member has been pariticularly helpful during this process. I know this subject probabaly has been discussed extensively before. Bear with a newbie to this forum and not very good at searches etc. I am thinking of buying USED MB RIMS ORIGINAL FACTORY EQUIPMENT (No Imitation OEM) how do I find people who have sold their cars and have somehow held on to their winter rims and tires approximately how much should I pay for such rims and tires.
Specifically advise me on what size rims would be appropriate for winter tires of various manufactureres.
GTA Toronto Canada area.

Anytime you are looking to change wheels and tires is to match the offsets and sizes to original specs. The GLK cannot accept wheels smaller than 17". So figure out what the 500SL wheel offset is and sizing. You may need to buy longer wheel bolts.

Buying used tires is risky, snow tires wear out quickly, you have to use exact tread measurement, knowing new tread depth and where they are considered worn out to calculate tire life left. Also the DOT code on each tire used with an app like Tire Facts will tell you when and where the tire was made and if there are any recalls. Mb gives tires a 6 year life. I think buying new tires is best unless you get a real good price.

I am running 17" 5-spoke wheels off a C300 W204. 17x7.5" in the front, 17x8.5" in the rear. Bridgestone Blizzak 235/60-17 size. You will need shorter wheel bolts from the C300. I picked them up off ECSTuning.

Bridgestone Blizzak 255/40/R18 V99 LM-32 tires mounted on perfect original Mercedes Benz 550SL Rims with shorter bolts. For the record Mercedes Benz only used two sets of bolts one of them is shorter and the other is longer version and they fit all their rims , but this fact is not advertised and some of their parts people here in Whitby Canada are not very forthcoming with this information. They are somewhat like robots who just look up the company material and just keep repeating the manual mantra that MB recommends to use specified RIMS only. In my case 2010 MB GLK350 4Matic came equiped with 20 " rims with all season tires and they were recommending to use 17" rims with winter tire. I consider this topic closed as far I am concerned and have found a solution which works for me. Thank you to all those who participated in contribution to this discussion.
KEEP IN MIND FOLKS MERCEDES BENZ ONLY USES TWO SET OF BOLTS SHORTER AND A LONGER VERSION AND USE CAN USED ANY RIM YOU WISH AS LONG AS YOU USE APPROPRIATE TIRE SIZE FOR THE RIM.

You were right on suggesting I would need shorter wheel bolts. I got them from my local tire shop's suppliers. I used Total Tire in Pickering Ontario and would recommend them if somebody is looking for tire help in this area.
