Hello! I have recently encountered P2033 and P2084. So I replaced EGT sensor 2 on Bank 1 with OEM part. It cleared the P2084 when I erased the codes via OBD, but P2033 seems to come back on. Not every time I drive, but it is always a pending code. I'm wondering if your CEL ever went away?

You may need to replace EGT at Upstream Turbocharged Sensor as well.

Even though no code came up for EGT sensor 3? Only sensor 2 was throwing codes.

Codes explanation is not always very detailed, and hard to know exactly which EGT sensor is failure. My case was with code p2081, I replaced first with new Upstream EGT sensor of catalyst, CEL still ON. Later replacement with new Down stream EGT sensor ( at DPF), it did not help, CEL still ON. Then I decided to replace Upstream Turbo Charger EGT sensor. This time of replacement helped to eliminate the CEL on. It works still now for more than one year, no problem.

Location of upstream turbo temperatures sensor. Underneath of Engine Air Filter. When you remove the box content of CPU, and Engine air filter, you will see it.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. My code is specific to Bank1 Sensor2. Your code P2081 seems to point to your 3rd and last replacement of EGT sensor at Bank1 Sensor1. By all logic, My code P2033, which is for Bank1 Sensor2, should have gone away with my replacement of EGT sensor at the specific location, but it persists...I'll go test the sensor 1 (pre-turbo) to make sure it's still working...
