Not sure how often wipers should be changed, but mine make all kinds of noises and don't wipe that well. Getting BOSCH next, those were great on the last car. On a side note, rainx doesn't work that well unless you are on a highway.

I was looking online for anything regarding rainx being bad for wipers but couldn't find anything. Could you link some stuff MBRed if possible?
I was reading their site and it appears rainx is just a layer of silicon over glass, so silicon in contact with the wiper blades erodes them? I was looking at some vids for rainx in action as well, and it looks like the rain drops just fly upwards and off the windshield at higher speeds.

Ok but where is the evidence of rainx actually eroding the wiper blades?
All I see is chattering from rainx being on the wiper blades. My friend has it on his VW and he hasn't had any problems, and rainx isn't permanent you need to reapply.
This page says it improves blade longevity:

I'm just trying to do some research and get some evidence so if rainx silicon spray is a bad product I can tell relatives and close friends to avoid it.

The wiper blades are intended to last until each servicing. I say intended because no two cars are the same and each are subject to different operating conditions. On a side note, if you actually find replacement wipers that fit a Benz post the brand and where you got them, because many of us have been hunting but have come up empty. Most websites and manufacturers claim to make replacements but none of them ever fit lol. So far I've been lucky and my dealership throws them in free with the servicings, but it would be nice to know there are after market replacements if needed.
By the way, I have never heard of RainX causing problems with rubber products, nor could I find anything regarding this statement online.

No offense to anyone, and I am not trying to be difficult, but just because one person on the internet who holds an impressive amount of knowledge said so doesn't convince me fully when I've seen more accounts of people testifying otherwise.

I've seen many who have no problems, many who experience the skipping of wiper blade contact, but I have never seen anything about rain x being permanent and causes premature erosion of wiper blades. That's all I was wondering.

My GLK will be 1 yr old in 4 weeks, I have been using Rain-X windshield washer fluid for about 10 months with no problems what so ever.
