New SQUEEELLLL brakes?

Hi all!

I recently replaced my brakes on my 2018 GLS 550. Ordered from FCP Euro. New Pagid rotors, new Texstar OE pads. Did IAW FCP Euro’s video, with a mechanic helping me.

squeels a lot! When lightly braking.
We also bled the brakes and swapped brake fluid.

Thoughts?

Did you replace all 4 wheels or just the rears?

Does it do it in reverse as well as forward?

You can try putting anti-squeal compound on the back of the pads, and chamfering the leading edge of the pads. Make sure all the retaining hardware and springs are in good condition and the pads don't stick in the caliper frames.

Hate to say it, but I had a similar problem with a motorcycle brake and, ultimately, I ended up with a different brand of pad.

I hope buying OE pads would be good enough. The rotors were OEM, not OE.

You must also generously lubricate the sliding pins in the rear or they will drag. Did you lubricate those pins with the right lubricant?

They were plenty well lubed, moved fine. Last rear brake job I did I used caliper lube.

And they were installed right side in? Maybe switch to ceramics. None of the ceramic pads I've used had nary even a hint of squeak.

Goodness I hope so! It has gotten better with time. To assuage some of the concern about the calipers moving. I put it in neutral on a slight incline…set the parking brake…car stayed put…released it…car rolled. They are releasing.
