AMG GLS 63 wost nightmare
Got my GLS 63 back in 21 brand new ! And it has being the worst nightmare , first problem was with sensor going off for anything and stopping the car in middle of the street with my family in the car 🚘 and now 3 time engine failure the car doesn’t start and has to be towed, being to the dealership with AC problems,
$150k for this ??

Of course, the dealer is good with you simply because there is still high demand for those, and they will resale it to someone else for a profit.

not sure if they’re are many with same problem like my! A good friend of mine purchased one for 2021 and returned it lost money on it because they didn’t help ! Waiting for a call from Mercedes benz hopefully they give me a good solution!

Full price including the sales tax and license cost I paid at purchase time.
While it was not a pleasant ownership experience the dealer has done everything to make it right. I just wish the new one was available sooner. Fortunately we have enough vehicles that we can adjust until it comes in.

I also suggest calling the Mercedes Benz Customer Service Center via their 800 number. They can were helpful in getting our issue resolved

2021 GLS63 AMG 2022 SL63 AMG
That looks almost exactly like my build, and unfortunately mine looked just like that on a tow truck last Friday. It was still running, but barely moving and the check engine light came on. Third time in the shop in 3 months for the dreaded check engine light. First they said software update, then a thermostat was ordered and replaced (3 weeks in the shop). This time, with it having be towed in, it has been in the shop for almost a week and no one has even looked at it. This is my everyday driver and I will not tolerate having a vehicle that is not dependable as I take it to our vacation home 200 miles away frequently. I'm driving my 2022 SL63 convertible every day until I can get this GLS fixed since the dealership doesn't have loaner cars available right now. Another reason to change brands. I plan to trade the GLS in on a BMW X5 or X7, which I'm not crazy about but at least they are reliable. I don't want to do that as I researched the hell out of big SUVs. Then I ordered and specked out the GLS63 just the way I wanted it, waited 10 months for it to come in, and I love it overall. But I won't have a vehicle that is unreliable and a dealership that is unresponsive. And now I'm concerned about the future of my SL63, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. By contrast, my wife's 2020 Porsche has never been in the dealership for more than routine service, which was identical to the experience we had with her 2015 Macan. I had similar "no issues" experiences with my BMW's prior to having this GLS. Unfortunately for us owners MB has some work to do in the quality department.

I like MB, but I will not touch their AMG versions. I have never known personally a person who had and AMG MB that did not have some level of engine failure. I’m not talking the AMG-lite where its cosmetic, but the ones where the engine is hand built. My neighbor when they moved in back in 2018 had a new E53 S (i believe it was the 53, might’ve been the 63), whatever it was, it was the top model with all the bells and whistles. The engine destroyed itself around 13,000 miles if memory serves correct. It became a BMW 7 series and he hasn't left BMW since.
my indi who knows plenty about MB, says AMG stands for “All Money Gone”. He owns a few MB’s from the G Wagon on down. Says the same thing as me - avoids AMG.
have another neighbir a few streets over, has the GLS 63 too (2021). Told me it’ll become a range rover the day they give it back at lease maturity. Said it’s been in the shop several times for failure to start as well. But the tires only lasting 10k miles is the kicker for them. Money is no object for them, but he can’t get over that part.

2023 MB GLE 63S SUV
Sounds like a 2021 model year problem for the GLS. In 2002 I purchased a GMC Envoy. Had problems with the AWD selector jumping in and out of different 4WD modes. Which was very dangerous when driving. I put a external transmission cooler
on the car and solved that problem. I always put a extra engine and transmission cooler on my late model vehicles so they don't overheat. With all the computers and chips ect heat is the worst enemy.
I have a 2023 AMG GLE 63 and will ask my MB mechanic about adding extra oil & fluid cooling. Just a habit of mine.

i call the 1800 number they had me waiting for 6 weeks to give me a answer and now they just told me they not buying the car back ! Now have to start the process with the lawyer
Sorry to hear about this, sounds like a lemon did you contact your local attorney to help you out with lemon law. Did the dealership ever identify potential cause to the engine issues, stored or active codes? Is your dealership cooperative? If not did you try a different dealer, not all dealerships are created equal. I hope it gets sorted for you.

Round 2 will be starting for me next week. The replacement GLS63 was built a week ago and should be at the dealership next week. I hope this one will be without issues. It has been a 9 month process
