Recall on Fuel Pump for MY22-MY23 GLS
Mercedes-Benz recall: Fuel pump may shutdown
Mercedes-Benz is recalling 79,676 various 2021-2024 vehicles because the fuel pump may shutdown, causing a loss of drive power, which can increase the risk of a crash, the company said in a NHTSA report.Dealers will replace the fuel pump, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Feb. 13, 2024. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. Is it really that surprising that people would skip the 580? If you want a top end GLS the AMG and Maybach are it. The 580 sits in this weird middle ground where it's not quite an AMG but it's not a base 450 either. Then add the ability to get the AMG line package on the 450 and the only difference to most people between the 450 and 580 is the V8. Those same people likely won't care about the power and instead would opt for the slightly more fuel efficient and available version.

I think the attraction of the 580 is its power. It edges out the 63 because of the 48 volt boost and even quicker throttle response.

Awaiting a 2021 GLS580
By the way, this was for “2022-2023” and from what I recall Mercedes stopped making and selling the GLS580 for most of MY2022 (or was that MY2021, they are all starting to blur together).
