If I understand correctly CarPlay full screen for iphone is supported with NTG7.
I have a 2021 GLS 580 running NTG6 (see screenshot) I am wondering if I can upgrade to NTG7.
I understand it cannot be done with OTA update but is it possible to do it at the dealership? Is that technically feasible?

It is a completely different system, you could probably order OEM facelift GLS screen and replace the existing screen because the facelift screen might have different hardware.
Are you saying NTG7 is not supported on my 2021 GLS screen and I need to upgrade to a newer screen?
I thought CarPlay full screen is just a software update from MB(ie NTG7) not hardware based as the screen is fully capable of displaying in full just the CarPlay is not taking advantage of it....

I think so since it is likely it has a different processor but I love to be wrong for your sake so you can just install the software instead of having to change the screen.
What he said above. I got my 2022 tuned for full CarPlay from Max (@EleBest) and he also made it Wireless, with factory toggles for AC, temp, sound, etc. The upgrade also enables 2 things over factory:
Dual navigation capability (not just the view, but both screens can be set to active navigation routes, one on Mbz maps and another on carplay). Photo below
It enables keyboard CarPlay typing on CarPlay while car is moving (keyboard is no longer locked when driving). At least Passenger can now search and type.
Also, note that 2024+ are NOT 100% full screen, they are still about 85-90% full only (there is an area taken out to the left). The solution Elebest did on my 2022 was a true 100% coverage, even more than what you see in 2024s.
Read that full thread for other detail (but read all posts cause it was a journey till I found this final solution). @S_W222 Wow. Just read your other thread. The list of features is awesome. Just hesitant as need to remove the passenger seat to do the head unit install/swap.
Besides not sure if doing this would void my remaining manufacturer & CPO warranty?
