Hello,

I got a quote from the MB dealer on changing the oil and air filters for $850. I think that's too much for the kind of work being done so I'll be doing most of it myself. I'd like to know how many filters do I need to change on my car and where exactly they are. Lastly, where do you get your filters from? Amazon? Local store?

Service A includes a bunch of inspections, engine oil filter and engine oil, and the filters or course.

There are two and three depending on the packages. Such as the filter in engine compartment then there is the more advanced charcoal air filter in the cabin. Third one is depending on options HEPA filter, not sure it GLS has it as an option though.

Find the part numbers and you can always do it yourself, the activated charcoal one is beneath the glovebox and is a back workout, change it every service B or more often depending on air quality.

OP, I forgot to answer one of your questions, sorry about that. You get the filters from the mb dealerships, mbparts.mbusa.com, FCPEuro etc.

OP, here is a great thread that shares prerty much the same engine as yours, so you can go there for oil and oil filter advice. The air filters, you may want to stick with the GLS ones. https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w214/909624-engine-oil-filter-e450.html

interesting, do you know where the 3rd filter is? I have the ionizing feature and I can’t find anywhere if there is some sort of maintenance for it. Thanks

EQS has an optional HEPA filter in the engine bay where the electricals are, I don't think you need to even change the filter for other Ionizing Comfort equipped vehicles as I too (like you) didn't hear about that needing to be changed.
