I just thought since I havent seen it many others probably havent either.
I hear ya on the car sale but most cars of that caliber are probably abused plenty, they just dont have video of it. I have several friends with 300k+ cars and they all hammered them right after the got them. That's why even though I'm pretty young I stay away from buying cars from younger people as they tend to not give a ****.

Whatever keys I grab first...
^^ No it didn't.

Did we all watch the same video? Because the one I'm watching has a sedan giving a full-fleged supercar McLaren a run for its money.

The SLR, in the second race, CLEARLY could NOT pull ahead of the E55.

Watch it again.

Nice vid. Loved the roar of the SLR, even though it didn't sound as though it was hitting redline.

Were those guys on a test drive or something??

No, they bought it. I talked to the sales manager from where it was bought-- House of Imports-- and he siad the car was sold for something like 300K before the massive mark-up to like 700, which can be found at places like Laguna Niguel.

Regardless, it's not worth the moeny, as this video shows. I believe Vic55, or any modded E55, can kill it.

Nice car, but not worth the money. I'd pay about 200-- most.

Agreed.
700K?.....you'd either have to be stupid, or have more money than god. I think MSRP is 450K, which is still too much IMO.

The SLR, ofcourse. BUT, given money is not infinite, I would gladly take an E55 over an SLR. Besides, I remember the envious looks on the Ferrari owners face after beating them in mine.

The SLR is just to expensive.

750K, to be exact. From the same delearship, imagine that. Not 1 year ago the very same vehicle was sold for 300K... now, at the same place (which can be seen in the video), it's going for 750K+.

They have (had?) a black SLR last I checked over there, and it was being sold near 1 million. Clearly, only an idiot, or NOTKTS, would pay that much.

Again, beautiful vehicle, but I think everyone can agree with me in that it's far too expensive... and... dare I say, just a little slow?

Are you kidding me? 750K? ROFL!!! My ****... I'd rather go get another Donzi. Still, I did look at one back in June/July for 35K under MSRP. At this point I turned else where... CLK DTM. Found several in my price range but importing seemed to be the biggest hassle. Most weren't willing to sell unless you have proof of DOT Certification If you have the money, who cares right?

And a little slow, John. The SLR is the ultimate GT. If I saw your ghettoized SL next to me, I wouldn't even waist my gas. Let alone now :p

What other car could you achieve 207 and bring all of your luggage and have all the comforts of a S class to boot? A CGT, Psh!

SLR? Ultimate GT? Yeah, right.

Andrew, do us a favour, and stop suckin' your own d!ck. "If I had it, man it'd be great!" "I wouldn't even waste my gas im so cool!" Get real-- this ghettoized SL would rape your porky, over-priced and over-weight Lamborghini-- and ugly, mind you.

YOU wouldn't waste YOUR gas?

Meh, try being in my shoes.

Nope! Mine. Seeing as the E55 breachs 200-- 198 to be exact-- I'm comfortable stating my SL600 can waltz into the 200s.

Oh, I believe you about the price. It's just the fact that you think I'd pay that.

Ah Ha! So you admitt! Those rims were straight from the 312's yardsale!

Sorry john but considering the SLR gave the E55 atleast a 2-3 car jump before he even hit the gas, then the auto has to downshift you figure a lil more time, that E55 got raped. That wasnt even close, he catches the E55 in 1 gear, and passes it into the next. He put atleast 2 bus lengths on the E55 in the first race.

Bingo. That E55 got crushed. Its a fast sedan, but not nearly as quick as the SLR (nor should it be, it weighs 500 lbs more & has 148 less ponies).

I dunno anyone paying $700k for an SLR. They had one at my local dealer going for $50k over list ($500k) & my SLK sales guy said they would take MSRP if offered. $450k is still too much for my tastes though - its just a car .

I believe keyes sold one for 800K when they first came out. It was one of the first in the US.

The SLR is naturally aspirated with equal to or greater than HP and torque, that means INSTANT POWER with no forced induction lag. I have experienced this with the Carrera GT..it made me a believer!!!
