CLS55 vs 06 Z06
I'm telling you what I know from real world experience, not what I read in some magazine or on the internet.
You could have bought mine, I was all too happy to get rid of it.
What do you know about me? Why do you Vette guys always have to get personal? This is a CAR forum, all I have talked about is CARS, nothing else. You think you are the only one who earns a living? Can we stick to the topic at hand (CARS)? Sounds like you've got some issues Ricky.
And YES you are a trust fund baby, or daddys little boy, If you were really EARNING all this money for these great cars yourself you wouldn't have all this time on your hands to go on the internet and spew...
Sounds like you've got some issues Ricky

Well it's been a blast but I have to get back to WORK unlike some people Lunch time is over
Although it maybe an amazing car, how drivable is the 1200TT Viper? Also if you're up for it, I'm sure someone could make a ECU upgrade that could easily increase the Veyrons HP 100-150 even tough the VW Engineers say that it's stretched to its limits in the terms of daily drivability. They say that the transmission will last for 10-20 years
Which isn't surprising when you probably take into account how much they will be driven and how hard they will be driven, most of them will probably sit somewhere in California's great traffic
In anycase I'm really looking forward to the event at Homestead next month

I bet they could get more than that out of the Veyron with 4 turbos.

i agree, u can easily get carried away with this ****
Looks like the "pos" C6Z gave the Gallardo a run for it's money!
C6 Z06 vs Gallardo (w/Tubi)
Now, back to this race (just wanted to bring up the engine fact), these are two entirely different cars. Yes, the CLS is 1100 lbs heavier. Is that not what is impressive here? A full weight 4 door car staying with and passing a 2 dr 500 hp sports car.
Now, will you all just appreciate both cars. Also, stop telling people that their win was a fluke. Cmon man, the guy was playin some games with a Z06, and both of their intentions were to have a lil fun.

First of all the LS7 is not maxed out. It's cast with that bore diameter. Guys are taking LS1,5.7 liter engines, and re sleeving them to 450+ cubic inches. These engines have sleeves and there is only so much "boring" you can do before installing bigger sleeves. Everyone is using larger sleeves. Many guys are using the C5R block that is already cast with a 4.125 bore to get 427 cubic inches.Just think what you could do with a engine that has not been re sleeved and is already cast with a 4.125 bore. I can see guys doing 500 cubic inches at some point. A single blower is going to get that motor solidly into the mid 600 hp range at the wheels. My 2003 ZO6 with a 427 stroker motor is over 640 with 10 pounds of boost. Lingenfelter is not the only "legitimate" tuner out there. Also, for the $46,000 you mentioned, what are you getting? That ZO6 totally blew away that Lambo using a pushrod V8.
A LS7 with LT headers & cam w/CATS and no PCM tuning are pushing 547/506 respectively at the rollers, that's a significant increase with just bolt-ons...this is borderline excessive for street use.
I would be more impressed if a CLS could stay with the C6Z on the twisties, or on the track for that matter.
jak112460 - Sounds like you got a wicked Z06

Vortech T trim.
Wrt the STS-V (not CTS-V, vomit
) in the comparo, while it's rated at 469 horsepower, it would seem that, based upon its trap speed, it's not producing nearly that much. With a *true* 469 horsepower, its calculated trap speed is about 111-112 mph (this is using a curb weight of 4200 pounds w/180 pounds of driver + test equip), but as I recall it trapped at 108 or so, which would mean it's actually producing around 430 at the crank.
However, I can't argue the value of the Z06. The price for that kind of performance is excellent. But the engine, although powerful, cannot be bored out even further.Regards

Agreed! Several tuners have now come up with headers, cams, and very soon ECU tuning that will push these car close to 600 rwhp and well over 500 rwtq. This latest Z06 with very simple bolt-ons makes it a Monster and it costs not much more then $5K.
I spend close to $15K on my Kleemann and would never appproach those Z06 numbers.
