WRX verses Supercharged S430

I don't know but maybe the guy couldn't shift for shi*t or he re-badged it..

I'm driving home from LA this evening on the (1) freeway, I take the Pleasant Valley exit which eventually dumps into the (101)

The Pleasant Valley exit opens up to a multi-lane road thru some farm land, I hit a little traffic and have to blast the throttle a bit to get around a slow moving truck in doing so, I pass what appears to be a silver WRX Turbo badged w/ugly rear wing and Lobster trap shaped hood scoop (Still had dealer plates "Milpas Motors" on it)

I look in my rear view and he's winding her out realing me in, I slow down to let him catch me and wouldn't you know it a STOP LIGHT!! :v

Were dead even he's in the right hand lane, I know his WRX is supposed to be brutaly fast on 0-60mph but like many of you I :v take all challengers.

The light goes green I gently roll into the throttle w/ESP on and I break into a little spin w/traction lights going off, He instantly pulls about 1 length I get traction and gain back a 1/2 length and NOTHING he doesn't pull anymore and I don't gain anymore!! :v We pull to about 65mph like this, and then shut them down due to to the next set of lights coming up quickly.

I'm sitting there looking over laughing to myself, I look over and he's alone as am I, the road merges into 1 lane again w/heavy traffic.

He follows me to the freeway on ramp North bound (101) and the lanes are nearly empty behind us I'm checking my rearview, and he's right behind we both nail it @ the same time from about 45-50mph, I pull a ridiculous lead on him 8 + lengths to about 100mph and shut it down to let him catch up and prepare for up coming traffic, and he goes APE**** weaving dangerously in and out of raffic to pass me.
I wanted to line up again, he wouldn't stop running like a scolded dog
I gave chase when traffic opened up only to find him exiting the frwy in Ventura

It was the most fun I've had in this heavy *** 4 door!! I'm thinking he couldn't row thru the gears to save his life (The reason I held nearly even 0-65mph)
but the freeway part I believe I should own him since the WRX is known to run outta steam on the long stretches..

If they don't dump the clutch off the line and start off idle, they run 0-60 in about 7 seconds. I was truly surprised when I blew the doors off one a few years ago.

Was it an STi? They're much tougher kills. Regular WRX's only think they're fast ;0)

Thanks guys it was fun!

Yes it was badged WRX sti Turbo

Roupin--I figure my 0-60 is probably between 5.2-5.5 w/all my mods and calculating hp to weight ratio compared to other fast Mercedes models
Also STOCK 0-60 for an S430 is 6.8-6.9 I KILL THAT NOW w/blower and exhaust mods So there's no way this guy was doing 0-60 in 7.0 sec I would've slaughtered him if he did....

Yes it's going in Autotrader this weekend (Got my sis to take some good pic's)

I'm definitely going to be rollin' in a new or used C6 next year, I figure it'll take a couple months to find the right buyer

The problems w/hps blower are still Engine light, and if you let off of WOT abruptly you get a huge hiccup! Besides that it's solid

I'll be going to Mech-Tech to address all of this before sale...

Nice kill, I'm glad you are still having fun in your Benz. I was on the PCH today, I wonder by how much I missed you? I thought you might keep your S and put in a used 55 motor for $5k. I know of a few places selling used 55 motors.

I wasn't surprised, knew the traction advantage.... so I flew past him once I got traction and just put cars on him til 1XXish and I cruised on knowing I owned it.
